Actually its no work at all for us to bring our pools back up as they never actually go down. you just can't connect to them.  once the DDOS Ends they are up automatically.  I'm just glad we are not getting any major failures like lost coins during all this.

You didn't supply the port number most likely.  but honestly join a pool while they work. unless you have super fast hashrate like some people its not worth soloing.

this is my conf

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=10.1.1.*
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=16384
rpcconnect=127.0.0.*
addnode=66.187.66.28
addnode=121.73.172.41
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*

You do have the wallet running when you are trying to mine right?

my lottocoin.conf
Quote
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=y
rpcport=16384
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*
rpcallowip=192.168.1.2
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

launch lottocoin-qt with -server in a shortcut <not 100% sure it's necessary to do as it's in the config but i do it anyway>

Next go to a dos prompt on your machine and check to make sure that lotto coin is listing

Quote
netstat -a | find "LISTENING",

it will take awhile to run, but once it's finished scroll up and see if you can find the port that you set the lotto cointo monitor in my example conf file it is 16384.

Then once you see it. simply run cgminer like this

Quote
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:16384 -u x -p y

Let me know if that doesn't work

Edit : Devianttwo >> will be switching back to you pool shortly. again thanks for taking all the trouble of getting it running while dealing with this stupid kids ddosing you.

The fact that all these pools are being DDos'd is really unbelievable. Ive only been mining since btc hit the headlines about a month back now i guess, but just reading these forums alone you really get the picture that this whole system is fueled by immature idiots constantly flaming each and trying to put down anything that they dont mine. The whole crypto currency really needs more level heads in play - far too many fanboys that just steam rolls into hate wars and thus results in this kind of shit. Pretty pathetic, especially considering it almost doesnt matter which coin you invest in right now as anything and everything is going up...

Gonna have a stab at solo mining - not tried that yet. I assume each server i want to solo on requires an instance of the wallet running (to connect cgminer to) is that correct? Does it require any additionall firewall settings at all?

Thanks!

I copied yours and I have the wallet running but it keeps the error.
Could be the password? Cause I put some random characters on it

I really like this coin but I'm curious as to what plans the devs have to promote this coin as a currency. It seems to be solely aimed to appeal to miners for the lotto aspect, but if nobody actually uses these coins for transactions then they wont be worth anything.
