For those with sync issues, you can use the pool as a node to sync directly: Back up yur wallet first1) Stop the client. 2) delete ONLY "peers.dat" 3) backup .conf file. 4) remove all addnode entries and add: 5) start client and wait until it syncs. 6) once synced to latest height stop client 7) restore the backed up .conf file 8 ) add this line as the first addnode entry: 9) restart client and enjoy

Sorry guys about the forum, one of the installed mods has broken it and it's tricky to find exact cause.
We'll be back online shortly.
EDIT: Fixed

Diamond Community!
First of all I wanted to thank you all for enduring this difficult period without updates and lack of progress. It might have appeared as if the project was in doubt but it’s nothing more from the truth.
This relates to the discussion from the help section -> http://dmdcoin.net/forum/index.php/topic,20.msg382.html
As you all know developers are real people with real life and as was mentioned before sometimes there are situations that cause they cannot give 100% of their talent to the project.
Apart from Zuper who cannot perform at full capacity at the moment we now have Pamdetroit who is well known, well established and gifted developer who had been with Diamond Coin almost since the beginning and understands very well the code and inner workings of Proof of Stake. The more I learn about Proof of Stake the more excited I am about the possibilities it brings. Minting and PoS will be explained to you all soon as this is crucial and the most important part of Diamond Coin. Of course it might be a challenge but once you get it you will understand.
I just wanted to assure you that Diamond Coin is in active development and please just wait a tiny bit longer for official release of the new wallet.
Many of you will believe when you see it so just .. wait, see and believe. It’s coming and it’s coming fast.
So what's coming?
First of all the checkpoints will be updated and the stake will be turned on. Those of you who were holding your coins to mint will finally have the opportunity to do so. After accumulating long coin age, it will be a nice reward for you all.
We are looking at adding new features to the wallet but let’s make it a surprise
What’s more the NVC code used in Diamond is broken and has to be fixed. We might be able to do it without forking but if that’s not possible we would do that in the next update which would be bigger that the current one. I hope this will bring some sunshine to your crypto lives.

Diamond Community and anyone who wishes this coin well. I have received an early notification email from Coinpayments. Our next public vote is going to start in 2 days (February 19th, 12:00pm GMT -0500). We have a thread on bitcointalk where are going to announce details but the actual vote won't be held on bitcointalk this time so your community won't need accounts on there or anything. The thread is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=471792.0Thanks, CoinPayments.net I cannot stress enough how important it is for Diamond Coin to be a part of that infrastructure. No other voting will be as important as this one for foreseeable future. Being a part of coinpayments will grant us a strong argument when talking to traders of all sorts. Last round those who got just about 100 or over votes had been accepted. The voting will not take place on Bitcointalk (where voting system was cheated) so this might be a good thing for us. Please ask your friends, from Facebook, Twitter, next door neighbour, mum, dad, wife, husband, children, dog, cat, fish.. whoever to vote for Diamond. Every single vote counts! Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/dmdcoin for more updates.

I also can't get my wallet to sync.
Yes, the new wallet that sorts out connectivity issue will be released shortly. Possibly in a day time.

Please consider following us on dedicated forum http://dmdcoin.net/forum/. zuper, popshot, PalmDetroit, and the rest of the dev team: I would just like to say a big thanks to all of you guys for putting your time and expertise toward strengthening Diamond. I am now 100% confident that DMD will establish itself as one of the most serious digital currencies - perhaps not tomorrow, but for those having the necessary patience, early investing in DMD will prove to be more than rewarding! We all understand that technical development, wallet upgrades and network security should be your first priorities and they take time. So, please take the time you need. Although I understand that many people in this forum want to make a quick buck (and there's nothing wrong with it), there's also some of us who are interested in it for the long term and see the potential of a super-fast, super-fair, scarce digital coin with PoS! While I cannot help with technical development, I'm more than willing to contribute to the community in other ways and help DMD grow stronger. When the next wallet release is made, we need to focus our attention on: First, community building and awareness (faucet, giveaway, game, etc.) Second, market making (trading, exchanges, liquidity) Third, merchant buy-in (a "DMD Accepted Here" Logo would help) I can help in all the above, just let me (and other volunteers that I'm sure are out there) know how you want us to be involved. Keep up the good work!

What type of return does pos mining have on diamond?
Hi Jamesco , we cannot tell you at the moment what stake interest there is because it's not fixed like Peercoin. There are many factors that affect the amount of return like, how many people stake at the time, number of coins in active mode , and generally the more people do stake the less % + more. However, at this very moment we won't know for sure as we haven't been able to do any real life analysis on the stake due to it being turned off for so long. This coin definitely rewards early stakeholders, so if you have any coins do not move them until the wallet is updated and stake turned on. Just wanted to clear out something, the first wallet update will regard connectivity and the stake on update will follow in a week time so everyone has time to update. It's important to do it this way so everyone is connected and stays on the same chain to prevent fragmentation.

Thank you gmg for your words of support. Your ideas are great and we will need any support available to build up stronger community and implement strategies that would allow us to lift off to the moon! I agree, there are two approaches to this, one is a quick buck strategy and the other is support of better technology. PoS is way way better than PoW and soon when ASIC comes to skrypt coins the mining will no longer be profitable for majority of people. PoS offers a solution where with your ordinary laptop block solving performance is x10000 more efficient than with specialised hardware. Just because people know less about the goodies of this technology they might regard it as something less significant than PoW .. but I'm telling you it's a sleeping dragon, that's what it is....
