Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

i cannot get the wallet to sync no matter what i try. It was stuck at syncing at like 80% for days. Then i updated notes and it seemed to move on. Yet now its stuck at 90% for hours again, at the same block. What is this?

Hello Everyone,

So far the Diamond Block Explorer (http://www.diamondblocks.info) has not received a single donation. Hosting unfortunately does not pay for itself. If anyone could send some coin over to help cover the costs that would be much appreciated.  Clicking advertising links on the explorer site is also helpful. Thanks in advance!

I suspect the whole diamond chain is down - no data in block explorer since 22:55:17 and I can't connect my miners solo..

Cryprocoins has started a diamondcoind pool:

DiamondCoin      -  diamond.cryptcoins.net

-proportional payout per block
-Vardiff stratum
-worker who finds the block gets 2% off the top

Everything seems fine.. hit our first block not long ago.

Hey Tripmode.
How about taking the "too many records to display" limit off the explorer. Or at least give a range of blocks to search for a particular ID.
I'm trying to figure out why most of the "random multi-coin" blocks are solved by one user.
I have to manually look through all the blocks and click on all the blocks that have more than a 2 coin payout to look for one ID.
That ID is dDqcXpWdhakptyocwV4JQ4WGyne24RXQMP

It most probably is one of the pools (pool operators, please confirm!).

I understand there is a script to predict whether the next block will be a bonus one (I remember there was a thread in this forum for that), but there's no way somebody would somehow surely find it - otherwise, they'd be just finding all blocks in all coins.

I want to believe the best - but I have a strong suspicion that something 'fishy' is going on with the DMD block network..!
I have been solo mining for a long time with a steady - uninterrupted - flow of work in cgminer, and with a steady flow on almost regular basis of DMDs mined - both single DMDs and also some of the rare 2 DMDs..
Over the last few days however I have seen large interruptions in the cgminer work - hanging/freezing for minutes and up to 30 minutes before suddenly resuming for a while until again hanging/freezing for several minutes..
What is going on..?
Is someone interfering with the block network in order to get the rare blocks - or what..?

later: just had another 6 min freeze..
..and let me remind you that this hanging/freezing does not happen on any other coin I'm mining - only on the DMD network..

If the devs of DMD read this - please look into this..
It would be sad to see a fragile DIAMOND crash due to possible suspect activity..!

I have now posted this on the frontpage of the Mining forum..

I only know the payout address of the 2 DMD pools I mine on. And other than the rare 2 DMD block, I don't see either one of those pools solving any larger than 2.
Those 2 pools are DMD.miner.cc and DMDpool.net
If any of those operators are reading this:
DMDpool.net: Your site is mind-numbingly slow. Get it fixed!
DMD.minar.cc: Please fix your payout for blocks over 1 coin generation. I've worked on blocks that have had 2 DMD and yet the payout is based on 1 coin. Fix it and back-pay the workers!

@Skywave: please give me the link to where you posted in on the frontpage so I can follow it also. Thanks!

Obviously a format string missing in main.h, yeah I know, reading warnings is highly overrated...

@WTParker2
hmm a moderator has moved it to this sub:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
..and it's already waayyy down on page 7 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=388853.0 - so I think it will vanish in the masses Sad

..regarding my cgminer freezing/hanging issue - it has become a bit better since my first post - but still happening all the time with 2 or more minutes stops.. right now 5 minutes freeze and counting..
..and more importantly - my usual steady income of DMDs has gone from dozens/24hr to just 1 or 2..!

There have been big fluctuation in network hash rate in recent days, from under 100 mhash/s to over 600 mhash/s. Might be, that could explain the troubles with solo mining. DMD is getting popular Smiley

There have been few occurrences of 8 diamonds found at dmdpool.digsys.bg, not yet one of the 30 diamonds blocks though.

This limit is there for performance reasons.

Realistically this limit only applies to mining pools as they have a large volume of transactions. Most of the super blocks are found by the largest mining pool - dmdpool.  There is nothing fishy about this as they have the highest chance to find superblocks since they have the highest hashrate.

If you are doing research, PM me and we can set up a time where I can remove the limit for you temporarily.

Thanks Tripmode. There may be a way to limit the search rather than just give an error. For example: the main block page. The main block page does not show you ALL the blocks but rather the last 25 or 50 or 100 etc. The results could be limited on the last 100 found blocks with that particular ID. Then at the bottom of the page list, you can have a link to the next 25 or 50 or 100 blocks. So on and so on. I would love to donate some DMD but it takes 2 days just to get a single coin for me.

DMDpool's transaction/wallet ID is: dNNVDurRYnVYQw7kCkkxbrD8u1TwssN5cg
Danbi's Pool @dmdpool.digsys.bg is: dbfhVZxM6rnmbgBBCdYJky8SpBb5aL4ut1
The ID that seems to be the "luckiest" is : dDqcXpWdhakptyocwV4JQ4WGyne24RXQMP

@K33K: DMDpool as the current $ per DMD on their dashboard.
For a rough estimate: get the price per Bitcoin, then Cryptsy has the exchange rate DMD for BTC. Quick math will give you the going price/exchange rate per DMD.
You can also look over the current Buy/Sell orders of users and what they want to sell their DMD for. From there, you can play the long game or the short game.
