Issue with Minerjones and anonymousminer for an escrow.

Well I’m only putting this here because I’m curious. A few days ago- a user (Tekno2020 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1356468 )
And I decided to do a trade with escrow for my Bitmain coupons. All went well until Tekno2020 sent the bitcoins to escrow. We both have seen minerjones online each and every day. We thought maybe he was sleep but I’m starting to think otherwise. But just now.. a user “anonymousminer” just sent us a message saying this :

Minerjones has asked me to reach out to both of you as he had a real life emergency and will be back Monday to release funds.  The BTC has confirmed and the coupons can be traded.

Then when I tell him that I don’t trust it he says this:

It is 100% legit and I understand your hesitation on here.  MJ is like a brother, which is why I know this information and he asked me to pass it along.  Look at my first trust entry..... it should validate what I'm saying.

He seems to be using the same address but there is an odd change in writing style on anonymousminer images recently... from March:

Yep, that's suspicious and I've seen this before along with the stalling tactic of having a "friend" contact one of the parties to the deal.  A while back gameristo got scammed for some PP funds, and this is exactly what happened.  I'm hoping for your sake that this doesn't turn out to be a scam, but I'd be more than a little suspicious if it was me.

minerjones replied pretty quick to pms before the deal,,,, then once we were in the deal he ghosted.  He has been incommunicado for the last day and a half.  Then we both got the message above from 'anonymousminer' that minerjones has had an emergency?

Nobody really knows what's going on, and people have seen enough scams to be a little paranoid.  There is always the possibility of an account being sold or hacked, and this looks very much like the situation I mentioned with gameristo, where immediately after he made a deal with someone, a "friend" showed up claiming the other guy had a medical emergency.  See the link and where EckhartJV swooped in to explain why JayT stopped responding.

I can confirm what anonymousminer is saying, and I deal with minerjones on a regular basis.

He is not available atm but will be returning as soon as his personal issue is over.
This I know for a fact , and I’ve been around for a long time - My trust ratings speak for themselves.

If you are terribly concerned with the Btc not getting released to the seller right away , I would personally arrange for the BTC to be sent on minerjones behalf - even though I think this is totally ridiculous witch hunt or whatever.

Life happens and I’m sorry if anyone has to wait a few days to recieve funds.

We have all seen many scams and exit scams take place on this forum, and in general.

At any rate, as the buyer, and the only one here with btc at risk,,,, Im chill,,, so everyone else needs to calm the @#$^#  down.  Hopefully nothing too serious with minerjones situation,... you get the negs removed quickly.... and we can all put this entire thread to rest.

Glad to see this is gradually resolved and  its all about break in communication or else, its going to be another round of issues that would take days or weeks to go away. Its really Ok to be skeptical $2800 is something while it could be some little amount to some people, it mean a lot to others and that's why emphasis should be shifted from the value that is the subject of discussion. Monday is almost here and all parties should chill and wait till then but from the response read so far, it sure mean that there is no cause for alarm.

Originally, nothing I had seen at that point in time really indicated minerjones was involved at all, so I was actually looking more into some sort of fake escrow scam posing as minerjones and swapping in another address on a quote, which would certainly be unique, considering who had the coupons and who was sending the funds... but that thought stemmed from the added concern with the aforementioned strange handwriting change from anonymousminer, most people do not change the way they write 7's and 8’s. This concern made me question whether the anonymousminer account was under the control of the same person that minerjones has known for a long time or whether it was under the control by the same person sending funds to the fake escrow and then coming on with a compromised account as a friend of minerjones and telling Kraven to send the coupons.

Fast forward to after that feedback was left, after I received additional information/PMs, I realized minerjones' account was actually involved in the PMs… which was a little surprising for me. because the behavior is unusual for him to not respond, but at this point, I'd say a likely temporary feedback on minerjones is warranted (in case of the account being compromised, this notifies others and protects minerjones from potential further damage) but I’m optimistic that it will all be cleared up. However, anonymousminer & minerjones are not accounts I would personally trust right now, no offense… I realize there may be special circumstances minerjones may be going through so I’m not trying to be insensitive, but, based on the way other scamming/compromised escrows have went down, I am being hypersensitive… temporary feedback seems warranted and I don’t think damages anyone in the short term.

I have no problem removing feedback if this is cleared up.

Minerjones' reputation precedes him, but yours does not. It's the first time I even read about you. I do understand the instant red flags when a third person suddenly talks on behalf of someone else. But the details are different than the typical imposter case: anonymousminer didn't ask for a payment, funds were paid to the real escrow address, and I assume both parties in the trade know the address to confirm payment was made. And when in doubt, it's always possible to pause the trade until minerjones returns.
Scammers use so many excuses that it's easy to forget "real life emergency" can actually happen, and if you're in business long enough, it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Don't take it personally, the number of scammers is just too damn high, and it's very difficult to trust people online, let alone in cryptocurrencies.

I do think that you did the right thing. From a new user's perspective, this makes sense if you haven't known MJ for very long. Users should prompt discussions when there's (to a less-involved user) suspicious activity involving a large trade.I personally wouldn't have trusted AM right off the bat either: it seemed really odd.

no. I have more than what I’m selling- and I also buy. Mikeywith actually is the liar. He lied to some guy about his deal. He wanted to do a 4 way deal so he could be paid. Mikeywith told a guy he has coupons and he doesn’t. I can also prove that. Whatever I decide to do with my coupons after I canceled is MY business. UPDATE: so I decided to cancel this trade with Teckno2020. Reason because the funds were intended for a purpose- which is why I was selling. I rather not wait anymore since I’ve been waiting a few days. Plus I was Leary and I have a right to feel like that. So I messaged Teckno2020 telling him to ask for his escrowed funds back. While I know real life can happen- I did not expect this. This trade started 5/9/18 and now its the 12th and minerjones isn’t coming back til the 14th (so to speak). I don’t know what to make of it but I need to cancel. It’s a bunch of mess. I am safely backing out at this point and I’m sure minerjones will return his funds. Nothing is lost.

You have 6-7 heavyweights and escrows guaranteeing the deal, so you could have had your btc sooner.   But of course btc has been down a good $800usd since we entered the deal on the 9th so you are incented to bail on the deal. If btc was up $800usd, you'd probably have a different story.
