I'm holding for a long time, but the reason is not with expectations of price increase but as a saving which grows high in the future.
Indeed its true I'm not holding them for a price increase but if it would increase it would be pretty nice. Also the halving can let the price jump so we can make profit because of that. |

I've been HODLING a decent stash for a few years now & adding to it as & when I can. We haven't had much if any progress for a while now as far as mainstream adoption goes.
When will we be able to say if bitcoin has succeeded or failed mainstream wise?

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

A contrarian I see. When everyone thinks the price will crash for the halving... 1) best to buy some, and tuck them into your pocket ~time before halving passes~...2) price explodes due to unforeseen halving of supply 3) SELL at the top, pocket proceeds...  |

It has now indeed a good time to invest. Because you can make some more money later if you now buy it at a low price. So that will be good. But that is also risky because you can also lose some money if the value will be going down. It's very simple. You don't lose anything if you don't sell. If you sell in panic, then yes, you'll constantly lose money. Better yet just hold it as much as possible and dont let your guard down when theres news about the price decrease. A lot of the "traders" here are too weak and they forget all the advice that they have received once their brain goes into panic mode. Some people never change.  |

Selling the bitcoin now is really not that bad they this profit from daily trading,its their business to do it that way. Hence still there are people who just hold their bitcoin and wait for some to come up. |

Exactly, if the current price is higher then what you bought in the past then I think you should sell a part of it and earn profits as we are not sure what would be the value of bitcoins at the time of halving. |

I do not think holding is in fact bad, I hold about 60% of my BTC, but I think mixing some trading and good POS coins is better. At the very least, it is lest boring than just HODL  |
