Got my board delivered Smiley

Can someone tell me, which cgminer version i should use, or is it necessary to use the tplink router whith the hex8a1?

greetz

You can use cgminer-3.12.3 that run on linux not windows, patch is available on technobit download page.
Guide is available on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=323727.msg5211950#msg5211950

Otherwise you can use TPLINK TL-MR3020. It's cheap & low watt compare to PC.
You can buy openwrt preloaded TL-MR3020 on technobit or buy it at you local computer store then update the firmware  using technobit openwrt firmware.

Get cgminer 3.12.3, patch it with the patch from technobit.eu, compile with option --hexminer8 and run.

I have a bunch of old PCs, I saw no point in buying the router when a PC can do the job better (I can run bfgminer on it for my BFL device and do other stuff if I want to).

Take care to use the same PSU to power the board and the PC.

Not necessary. I am using three PSUs currently - one for the PC, one for the HEX8 and one for 3xHEXb + 1xBFL60

Which connection is it gonna be for the final version ?

Wierd, when I taped out the outer pins on my troublesome Hex16B board's cable, it worked fine.
(also work on Hex8A1, but it was something else that was the problem, needed a fan on the 5v PSU line, to help regulate the PSU.)
Are you sure you didn't damage the data cables? If you are, try adding back the ground. If that don't work you could try +5v and ground powered from a 5v PSU line (Red/Black), with more Amps in the PSU it shouldn't flow back, and PSU is designed to handle bad loads if it did.

It's 0.2.0 Milestone release  http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/497695/0-2-0-rar.html

That's all you need to flash a TP-Link TL-3020 router into a 2Watt mining PC.

If you have a factory new TP-Link you go to the firmware update menu and load up the x-factory.bin file.

If you want to upgrade one already turned into a miner you go to the firmware update menu and load up the x-sysupgrade.bin file.

This is my current setup with new fans.

I am still not sure what settings should I use, because the outside of the heatsink is still getting pretty hot und almost untouchable
Nevertheless, the reduction of noise level is really tremendous, it is not louder than my notebook when it is busy doing something Grin

Well, depends on how much pressure do I use to keep my hand on it for more than 10 seconds Grin
No, never actually tried this settings, currently running @ 230 and 950mV
