I think its kind of crappy that the author was doing us a favor by setting up a pool first only to get undercut by someone else. Especially when the author isn't pre-mining. Then again I'm guessing his pool will start first so we will see.

Agreed, I'm just going to stick with the authors pool since he was nice enough to add it and not premine. But he should release a wallet soon if he actually wants people to mine it. It's getting close to the deadline he set and haven't heard anything from him

This isn't possible unless the wallet is released before the official 23:00 UTC start time. This pool will still need to change things up in that regard, I doubt it will be seemless. Depends on he has it setup though.

Well, 4% is not a favor. It's gouging. Had he gone with 1-2% I would support his pool in principle. But 4% is almost unheard of. Also, a diversity of pools is useful when some will inevitably go down.

I believe he has said that the wallet itself won't be available until the official 23:00 UTC launch. I think people need to calm down and just be patient. Unless he delays again, which, would be kinda hilarious and sad at the same time.

I'm not quite sure I'd call this gouging. 3-4% is fairly standard with bigger pools these days. Plus, we still don't know if he might be using that extra fee for giveaways and bounties.
