There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

haha seriously... even this struggles to bring in a decent amount of catcoins
You're mining a scrypt coin with CPUs and are surprised you don't get lots of coins. OK.

Meh I can't get on the right chain. Everytime I find a block on the real chain (i think it's the real chain?), I start my own fork and start mining a block a second.
Close QT, reopen and sync, all blocks are gone.
Ran QT on another box on a different network and it's on a totally different chain 1000 blocks off and lower dif..
Which one is the real damn chain?

Come on http://cat.cryptovalley.com, we have the official chain from the official github repository.
You may see a difference because new blocks are coming very fast so it takes seconds for everyone to sync.

Yes I know... but CPU mining at the start is meant to be pretty easy Wink

The longest chain wins. Even if you have coins confirmed on whatever chain your pool is on, they will eventually be rejected by the blockchain that is the furthest. So even if poolofpools is on their own fork they win. Unless the dev codes in a check point, am I right?

Which pool is paying ?

cat.poolofpools.com has paid out over 50,000 with another 150k or so waiting for confirm/crons to catch up.

I think they are using a different fork, check your wallet's current block and their pool's current block, something going on ....

Windows wallet doens't run, maybe the libs I've found in my hd aren't the appropiate version. Is there a guide to build it in Ubuntu or mint? Or is there any distro compatible for a quick compilation in a virtual machine?
