I think holding on to your ripple is a better choice than holding cardano simply because ripple is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer and the coin truly has the potential to revolutionize the whole global banking scenario. The development team of the project is also very very strong which is another reason to invest in the project.
I see a lot of potential in ripple and I believe that within an year or so, it's value will surely be around 5$ or so.

These both coins have really some good potential in upcoming days but the problem is ripple is not fully decentralized it's like semi-centralized .banks can overtake the manipulation of ripple. Still we can see some good spike in ripple cause the team is working hard to establishing there network worldwide. In other hand cardamom is platform based token and they already in development status more than half and one year. so I think they gonna launch something big so we can say you have good mind and you can decide what is better but if you want then try to invest in these both.
