Thanks for the info. I run that fan on my 5gh miner. Really quiet. But it's only  70cfm. I'll be returning those once they come in. Just ordered two more factory fans too put on the back.  You are exiting the hot air out the second  fan?  Wouldn't the hot air just rise if both fans were blowing in?  Just curious cause I'm about to do this setup like you have. Also if i overclock both can I run one 1200 watt PSU for both miners.

Well the stock fan sucks air in, the back one blows air out

thanks

I've run a few overclocked on a bequiet system power 600w PSU (80+ silver)

Just double-check the power on 12v, but I think you should be good.

The "A"
It's quite simple actually.
Take the A, multiply by 12 (because you're using 12v) and then you have the total watt which can be used for the miner.

The total wattage of a PSU is always a sum of 3.3v, 5v, 12v. Sometimes you have this odd PSU which looks good but it has a lot of watt on 5v and less on 12v (which makes it bad for Antminers)

An overclocked Antminer uses up to 500watt. You should always have a little spare power for safety and stability. So I'd say, aim for at least 48A on 12v, then you should be quite safe. (assuming a 80plus gold PSU, a lower one will need more because of inefficiency)

+3.3V - 25 A , +5V - 25 A , +12V - 51 A , -12V - 0.8 A , +5VSB - 3 A
and it is single rail. Looks good.
Thanks Jeffrey Wink

Only OCed @400MHz here:

Around 16.3A per blade (~100+ GHash) with 11.48V at the terminals.
Values are for one hashing board only, for total numbers you might also add a little for fan(s) and OpenWRT controller.

so it still keeps around 2W/GH with a >90% PSU
do you have the numbers for stock-Clock, too?

i wonder about these "550W at wall if oc" calls

Inside news:

apparently, cxboyminer has been appointed to design images for Group buy 7. Thinkers think that GB7 should be available soon, but no firm confirmation from both cxboyminer or sushi.

Already wondered too...
Even with all losses, including cabling, mine are around 425W at the wall (230V) with relatively cheap, but at higher load quite efficient (95%85%) PSUs...
Stock clocks need 50 Watts less. Still a lot when compared to my also heavily overclocked bitfury miner.

Edit: wrong digit

If you are planning to overclock DO NOT replace the stock fan unless you are getting another fan with the same CFM

The stock fan pushes 130 cfm
Anything less and you run the risk of overheating or damaging the unit

I added the same exact model as the stock fan, the back blowing air out
They are about $7-8 on eBay

Just search for "4715KL-04W-B56"

I wonder if something like this would work instead and make these things basically silent. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002 The cfm is 119. So, it's pretty close, particularly if you use two of them.

Edit: The only problem I have had so far is that I have not been able to get OpenWrt to recognize the fan on the second blade and control the RPMs accordingly.

Oops! Sorry, I meant 85%, not 95%. No space technology here...  Grin
No, these are only simple Corsair CX600 (which have 86% efficiency in the load area they are run with the overclocked ant) and similar.
Still, my power numbers are correct.

I just bought the same power supply (Corsair CX600) for the AntMiner S1.
It looks like there's only 1 PCI-E wire with two 6-pin connections.

Is it safe to use that 1 cable and connect to 2 boards of an AntMiner?

For the power supply, Fry's had refurb Corsair CX600Ms for $47.  It's a single-rail design, so it ought to have no problem running an AntMiner.

I run my AntMiners off of Corsair CX600, not the M, at 200 GH/s without issue (one per miner).

You must be confusing something! The CX has two 500 mm cables, each with a 8-pin (6+2) PCI-E connector. (http://www2.corsair.com/training/psu_cable_lengths.pdf)

Is it safe to use that 1 cable and connect to 2 boards of an AntMiner?

If the PSU had only two 6-pin connectors, it would be probably not powerful enough at all, as they were only designed to provide 2x 75W max.
On the other hand - even if there were two 8-pin connectors on one single cable, I would not expect problems in environments with normal ambient temperatures, because the manufacturer had to design it to provide 2x 150W, which nearly matches the overall power requirement of an antminer.

Overclocked, it will be around 30% over specs and will heat up the cables+connectors - an aspect which must be taken care of in any case (single or dual cables).

It's a Corsair CX600M.  Is anybody else using those with the AntMiner?  How are you connecting the PCIE cables?
