Been a busy few days, so much to do. Main focus after organising our admin logistics has been to get speakers
We are trying to get a varied list of speakers from outside the community. We have managed to get our request to wikileaks staff for Julian Assange to appear via video link, fingers crossed on that one.
Rickard Falkvinge has also been contacted and has replied saying he would be honoured to attend but has to work around a prior commitment, no confirmation yet but it sounds good.
We have contacted a representative of the FSA and they have requested more information which is better than no response.
Jgarzik and Andresen of course are on our hitlist so we are making some enquiries about getting them over.
The biggest problem we are having is finding the detractors to come so we can have some kind of debate, ive contacted Ben Laurie but he may have scheduling issues. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR VERY OUTSPOKEN DETRACTORS?
3 days in and things are looking good, thanks to the positive responses from everyone in the community to date, lots of sponsors onboard, its only 10 Bitcoins so if you have something to sell let us know.
If you are not already following us on twitter please do so and help spread the word @bitgroups
Feedback we have received so far is mainly concerned with unbundling the hotel from the conference, here is our latest thought process and the challenges associated with it:
It increases the logistics of registering at the event
Decreases the numbers of people in the hotels reducing the bargaining power of everyone else
Reduces the amount of money we spend at the hotel and reduces our ability to negotiate on the conference room
If we need to move conference rooms to cater for larger numbers we can provide transport to the new venue from one hotel but not from many.
They are the reasons for not unbundling but we have had enough registrations to consider it. The price without hotel will be 150Euro, if you are adamant you don't want the hotel bundled please vote with your feet and register
http://conference.bitgroups.org stating so.
We will announce it in 2 days, so get in and register to let us know what you think.
Very interesting! I'm afraid I'm no fan of international travel but I'll definitely tune in to any live feeds!
We've spoken to a few sponsors and media, we have confirmed there will be a live stream of the talks on our site and
Coverage in english, German and Polish.
Why Prague? Nobody yet mentioned Czech republic as a country of beer.
I think it'd be fun talking some pub owner (preferably a pub with beer from minor breweries) into accepting bitcoins. At least for the duration of the con.
We agree, it's the perfect time to get a local establishment onboard that will accept bitcoins. This is high on the priorities list, we will have a map
of locations accepting bitcoins around the event. Beer sounds like a great place to start.
Flights booked
Prague looks to be a nice little touristy spot to hang around for a few days before the conference too.
Another +1 here for entrance only fee option as I will be arranging my own accommodation.
... Must remember to buy slush a beer!

@wordly
Maybe its a good idea to post some pictures from the hall (where its gonna take place) itself?
Pics coming soon
$325 + $573 taxes & fees = $898 USD per person
Too bad the taxes and fees are more then the ticket for me!
how does that work, tax rates of 180% ill never understand.
Im also using Gplus to spread the word, if you are on Gplus please add me gplus.to/mitchellbourne and make a comment on a post telling me you belong in the bitcoin circle
Suggestions, suggestions, suggestions, please add them, especially speakers you would want to see.
Thanks
