I would definitely keep it 50 billion as it was stated in the initial coin post.

But let's keep it long term, so the coin won't die.

We are not running away with anyone's coins we had hard time these past days dealing with the issues. On the server there was two issues first was CSRF was rejecting cookies which was making it hard to trade and login and then deposit engine crashed we purchased new server instantly to provide painless service but that created even more pain both for us and you guys. However we are now fixed. Grumpycoin is off at the moment but it will be up in sometime. Giveaways are not allowed on bitcointalks, but they are allowed on twitter. What if we do the following.

Someone with a nice bag of coins hold a lottery. He give away 0.25BTC for all people that vote on grumpy 100 times, so that will cost the voter 0.005BTC and he can choice a number and if the lottery hit this number then he will receive those 0.25BTC or you can do it with x number of grumpy coins. This means that you can maybe add 10,000 votes  or more (when 100 people pay 0.005BTC) and the voter can even win money with it.

I am not sure if this is the right thread for this proposal. I am focusing on promotion and adding more services. You need to know the source code and compare it with other crypto technologies to be able to provide a good answer. Have you developed any wallet and know how to change parameters in scrypt coins? I have not so I can't answer your questions but maybe our wallet creator can and please contact the guy with your great ideas. Anything good you provide for Grumpycoin will be promoted on our social network.
The grumpycoin wallet looks fine at the moment with successful implementation of Kimoto Gravity Well and what I understand is one of the critical success factor for a crypto coin to survive nowadays. The wallet changes we are developing at the moment are user interface changes. New non crypto people don't care they just want to have some fun and be able to do something with their coin.
More service coming up. Dev's are working hard. Stay tuned.

This is very basic stuff. Templar said that the total amount of coins and distribution can be easily changed (by him or someone that helped him - stanleytwobricks, as clarv mentioned). KGW is important now but in a couple of months where there will be like 10 GRUMPs per block there will be nobody to mine GRUMP anyway, so no KGW needed (or wallet) anymore. No mining means also no transactions within the network = coin dead.
