Do you actually think it's too late to mine this coin?

I haven't mined a thing from this coin, but I'm not sure whether I should jump in now (as the n-factor is probably too high)
im pretty sure VTC is going to be what litecoin is now

What is power consumption for n-factor coins? I mean is there a difference comparing to usual scrypt coins?

Unchanged for "low" NFactor coins - say N=4 to N=12 or so.  When you start getting to N=13 and N=14, you can mine effectively with low power GPU's, and configure your GPU to use fewer shaders for the amount of memory you have.

That sounds interesting. Could you go a little more into detail plz. What would that mean in terms of power consumption? What do you mean with "low power GPUs"?

Can anyone help me getting vertminer-0.5.2 working with a R9-280x GPU?
Using the following CFG file:
{
"pools" : [
   {
      "url" : "stratum+tcp://vtc.give-me-coins.com:3337",
      "user" : "usao.GPU1",
      "pass" : "x"
   }
]
,
"intensity" : "8",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"expiry" : "30",
"scan-time" : "5"
}
Getting the following errors:
Error -4: Enqueueing kernel onto command queue.
GPU0 faulre, disabling!

The power used by the gpu is mostly used by the shaders. Each shader uses some memory for the program and another bigger chunk for the data (the amount varies with the n-factor). As the n-factor increases the graphic cards will no longer have enough memory to use all the shaders, so the power used will decrease (and so will the hashing speed).

Add this parameter if you use sapphire dual-x.

--gpu-fan 70-100 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1010 --gpu-memclock 1250 -g 2 -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8191 --gpu-vddc 1.07 --lookup-gap 2 --temp-target 76 --temp-overheat 83 --temp-cutoff 90

So which config we should to decrease ? Thread-concurrency ?

vert.pool.mn invites you to mine VertCoin! 0% fee!
At pool.mn branded pools you will enjoy 0% fee and 100% uptime as ~2Gh/s worth of miners all over the world do!

Do not use this pool.  owner is a known scammer.  use at your own risk.  This guy makes a new account constantly trying to promote his lame pools.

Works great for me. Also faster than Vertminer when using Zuikkis kernel. Less hardware errors and rejects as well.

When you start sgminer, what kernel do you specify? I tried starting with --scrypt-vert and it failed to recognize that.
Also, copied cgminer.conf to sgminer.conf. Should the kernel just be --scrypt or somthing else?

Please donate to the below Vertcoin wallet address in order to help fund this project:

It will have 2 pages similar to this:

If you spot any spelling or grammar errors, these are easily sorted.  I do have a full time job as well as trying to get this project completed too.
