What about changing the name to VerticalCoin? Sound more appealing than VertCoin
fOR ME is ok , Greencoin would be fine too imho Smiley
lol

NO!
if we want to change the coin name, at least change it to something that everyone would remember when we talk about it.
Here's my vote:
futureofcryptocurrencykickassasickillermotherfuckercoin.

The "MF" word its there just to get a longer word.

just create a new txt file and rename the *.txt to miner.bat (or whatever name you like).
Then check out this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=416572 and copy paste the settings for your gpu in your miner.bat file

or just copy pase the following as a start for the r9 290:
vertminer.exe -o POOL-ADDRESS -u username -p password  --gpu-fan 75 --thread-concurrency 20481 -I 20

bam. you got your bat file and can start mining

Hey guys, I'm mainly active on reddit and usually just lurk here, but I wanted to cross-post my fundraising campaign to become the first Vertcoin sponsored athlete.

Official Vertcoin Market Campaign Page

Today, my campaign proposal become a Vertcoin sponsored runner has been approved! This is going to be an ongoing project with no limit towards the amount you can donate. VTC donated will go towards running apparel with the Vertcoin logo, website hosting, and whatever else you guys would like to use it for! I'm already signed up for the Berlin Marathon on September 28th, but if a race accepts VTC it would be great to use funds for registration fees! I plan on running several half-marathons and other races leading up to Berlin (possibly a large marathon in May as well) so I am working on getting this project up and running as quick as possible.

I just registered vertcoinathlete.com and will try to get a website up within the next week. The website will include a bio and blog of training. There will be videos and pics of my training in the mountains of Colorado. I own a Go Pro camera and I'm excited to use it more! Vertcoin and the Vertcoin community will be implemented in all that I do.

Lastly, I would like to extend this offer to other Vertcoin athletes and e-athletes as well. Eventually, if funding proves successful, I would like to create an environment for motivated athletes with big goals. My goal is to run in the Boston Marathon, which requires a 3:05 marathon time. I feel like I can get there in 2016. What is your goal? Basically, I want to create a Vertcoin community sponsored sports brand deal. Sponsoring a large range of athletes living in countries around the world will up definitely up our exposure.
I'm going to need your help in getting this thing started. Simply go to the Official Fundraising Page and donate what you can. Your contribution will go towards raising Vertcoin awareness, benefiting the community, and in the very near future, helping athletes achieve their dreams. The more I think about this project campaign, the quicker I realize that this isn't just for me. Let's build something greater.

If you have any questions or ideas for the future, please let me know!

Just tweeted this @Moonbat4. Go AlaricI!!! Let us know if you have a twitter handle and we can follow you on twitter as well!

Anonymity is important to people. I was disappointed the devs backtracked on their promise to implement zerocash. IMHO, Darkcoin is doing well and is ASIC resistant, plus mines much cooler. I hope drk considers zerocash protocol.

Full anonymity=scare mainstream

smart anonymity (ie vert and stealth wallets)= mass adoption.

what are these stealth wallets and when are they expected to be available??
Darkcoin is implementing decentralised coin join wallets now. Bitcoin proposal for stealth addresses via elliptic curve is being peer reviewed. Maybe, if we're lucky, stealth addresses will be out at next update. No negative reviews yet but I think it is a political hot potato for bitcoin and litecoin.

Hi all, are you tired of having to chose between shitty VTC pools and 2% fees?
I sure am, thus I decided to launch my own pool for myself and a couple friends.
The fee is normally 0.75% but to get some more miners it will stay at 0.25% for a few days.

Of course the pool offers all the high end features you would expect, including:

  • 0.75% 0.25% fee
  • Dedicated database server (quad code Xeon, 32GB RAM, 2 x Intel SSD RAID0, 1Gbps network)
  • Two stratum frontend servers in Europe and in the US (tcp+stratum://eu.vtcpool.org:5000 and tcp+stratum://us.vtcpool.org:5000). Set up both for redundancy.
  • Vardiff (base difficulty is 32, but can go as low as 8 and as high as 2048). 30s share difficulty retarget time.
  • Blocknotify support to reduce likelihood of orphan blocks
  • PPLNS payout that runs every minute.
  • HTTPS/SSL frontend with Strict-Transport-Security.
  • DNSSEC and IPv6 support
  • No email and account locked problems

Feel free to join us at https://vtcpool.org

Vertians, we need to relax the price is already recovering. It looks like someone dumped some major coinage which dropped the price through the normal .002 floor we've been seeing. On the plus side, you can get some cheap coins if you act quickly, and diff is looking pretty good for mining Smiley
