Love this coin, somehow screwed up and my wallet.dat is gone but I have my private keys still. Just can't get Agama to load them even if I rescan, the rescan just comes up with errors. That was after I bootstrapped correctly to catch up to date on blocks as well.

Even other wallets (mobile, webwallets) are disabled for this coin! there's a problem occurring lately and still isn't fixed yet!

Hi guys,

Just noticed, not one of the listed exchanges @ https://veruscoin.io/getVRSC.html#exchange is taking deposits? All are in maintenance.

Does anyone know of a working exchange? I would like to exchange a few hundred coins for BTC.

Thanks

ya i mentioned in their discord the same thing, seems exchanges are not something they generally worry about tho
this never made it onto a decent exchange in the year+ its been alive, not sure if the wallet is just hard to run for them or what : /
generally a coin that claims so many "firsts" dosent have to worry about paying so much for listings or have so much trouble getting on a top 10 exchange you would think...
all exchanges are down for this for days now tho, gonna be a race to dump this one i think once they open so be rdy if your looking to sell!

from discord

There is a completely optional update available that addresses an issue where sometimes a stake may fail to submit. There is no other change. This issue did not prevent all stakes, but only some, semi-randomly, and although there is no way to confirm you missed any stakes, this release will prevent it from happening. There are still no known issues on the network with version 0.6.0-6, so unless staking is important for you, there is no need to update.
We found, fixed, and confirmed this issue last night. Again, the last critical release was 0.6.0-6, and the only difference between that version and this is that this one will always properly submit stakes that are found.
Merry Christmas / Christmas Eve to all who celebrate, and for those who don't, we hope you are enjoying the Holidays!

Anyone staking this coin and if so do you have an optimal stake size you are staking in order to get the best results given the recent network change and growing difficulty?

That is a nice chunk, sounds like its not worth staking unless you have a chunk like that and stake pools seem pretty inconvenient. I appreciate the feedback and wish you continued success with your daily staking.

But its not worth either when there is less volume to the coin. It needs to add more features to attract more volume to this coin and then you can add it to well known exchange as well.  Maybe bittrex or crex24 for now, it has to add up to get more volume. Crypto market needs to have more privacy coin for us to have move option and the cheaper ones with good volume are just what we may need.

Their large volume is now in altsbit. A relatively new exchange.

Yet, if you can see, the trading volume is very low for being the no. 366 in market in coingecko.

Also, in what phase are they now in terms of implementation and roadmap?

You can mine Verus at autoexchange mining pool Zergpool.com at 0.5% fee. Please use following commands for different mining options

Option 1 Auto coin switch by profitability within algorithm with autoexchange to specified coin wallet(BTC in example below)
Code:
  -o stratum+tcp://verushash.mine.zergpool.com:3300 -u <YOURBTCWALLET> -p c=BTC

Option 2 Direct coin mining with payout to coin wallet
Code:
  -o stratum+tcp://verushash.mine.zergpool.com:3300 -u <YOURVRSCWALLET> -p c=VRSC,mc=VRSC

Option 3 Direct coin mining with autoexchange to specified coin wallet(BTC in example below)
Code:
  -o stratum+tcp://verushash.mine.zergpool.com:3300 -u <YOURBTCWALLET> -p c=BTC,mc=VRSC

Please note mc stands for mining coin symbol, c stand for payout coin symbol

Autoexchange to BTC, LTC, DASH, BCH, DOGE or any other currency we mine
Happy mining,
 cheers pinpin

btw how does mining work for this coin?

Max Supply:   83,540,184
Algorithm:      VerusHash 2.1 PoW/PoS - 50/50
Block time:   1 minute
Reward:     24 Verus

Wallets and all that is needed to mine and stake: http://veruscoin.io

Mining instructions:
Install and run the Verus-enhanced Agama wallet with mining support
Upon first run, select Verus as your coin
In the upper right corner of Agama, go to the top menu and select settings
At the bottom of the settings rows, you will see “</>  CLI”, which you should select, revealing two input lines, one for selecting the native coin, and one for the command.
On the first line, select Verus as the native coin
    On the second line, enter:
          setgenerate true n
where n is the number of threads you want to mine with. If you enter an n of 0, you will
    stake, but not mine.

Staking instructions:
Staking is automatically enabled in our enhanced version of Agama, and will operate continuously in the background as long as Agama is running and you have spendable coins that are not coinbase transactions and that have been held in your wallet for at least 150 blocks, or approximately 2-½ hours. In order to stake with coinbase funds, coinbase transactions must be first shielded and transferred to a transparent address. This can be done on the send screen, after you create at least one private address in the wallet from the receive screen. Once you have shielded and then unshielded any coinbase transactions, they will also be eligible for automatic staking from your wallet when it is running.

Anyone staking using an atomic pi? Looks like a pretty low cost and low power solution to have your staking wallet on all the time.

Dont bother trying to stake this coin.
I have "staked" 1000 coins for over a month now, and got ZERO returns...completely pointless.
Unlike normal staking where you simply fget a fixed percentage, you have to "WIN" a block to get a share, and unless you have 1000's of coins , no chance.
You may have more luck in the various "staking pools" who knows

You realize that your 1000 coins staking are against nearly 50 million coins other may stake.
It's just like mining, where if you have a low hash power you have less chance to mine a block. Hence why people are using pools instead of solo mining.

I have personally seen VRSC stakes with less than 5 coins. Of course that won't happen daily or even monthly.
