@dev,
Today I download DigiBit, which is a MultiBit port, and try to use it. I like it so much coz it doesn't require to download the full blockchain
However, when I try to import private key from the core wallet and import it into this wallet, I get the following error:
The private keys unlock failed. The error was "Could not understand address in import file"
Having a closer look, private keys of this wallet start with letter "Q", while private keys of the core wallet start with letter "L" or "K"
It makes no sense private keys of these wallets are not compatible. Could you please have a look and get it fixed?
Thanks

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Digibyte,will you attend/speak on the bitcoinexpo londen?
I also need to know this. I will try to catch if DGB is going to be there. You just keep focusing on buying in bulk hehe. On a serious note.....BUY UP hard one hit and give us some exposure, ill join in next week. Hahaha, it is actually time to buy now... not next week... But I am buying slowly.. No need to wake up the giant I know right! I thought I'd play it safe than sorry and bought a bit at 16 and 17 SAT. That's still really cheap considering there are a lot of coins out there with $500,000 market caps and have nothing on DGB. It'll be interesting to know when the crypto community will wake up and jump onto DGB. I was on the "BTC price watcher thread" and mentioned of DGB and nobody knows about it... then one of them came here yesterday and said "hello" because he was so tempted with the name "DigiByte". People have not discovered DGB as I said before... There is no marketing at the moment and I do not know the main reason, but I guess, DGB is not quite ready for that yet... We have to present something new and we have to have all the required tools for DGB ready. Along with that, we have to address all other communities, this is how you can take the attentions... So I hope Jared and team have a plan on this, and I believe they have, but just not yet... So that is why it is quiet now and price is so cheap... I am telling you my great plan now: "BUY & HOLD".

If I'm honest, I'm so glad that Jared and team are waiting until they feel the coin is 100% ready for marketing so that when they start using the marketing platform and spreading the word, the coin will be able to look professional with no holes so that the coin will always be and continue to be a professional coin and dedicated team that everyone will have to get on board! I am telling you that your plan: "Is exactly what I am going to do" I should be off travelling for a couple of years in September and see how the price is in September, just sell a couple of million for my travels if I think the price is right, then leave the rest in my wallet until I'm back.

I think this is what will set it apart from other "coins" out there attached to memes and other BS. DGB seems to be making sure it is ready for a full roll out. It will be interesting to see what will happen if companies, and maybe a government here and there, starts accepting BTC as payment and what affect it will have on the alt markets. I wonder if the masses will just try to snag whatever they can? Could be very exciting for a few alts.

Big companies may as it could be a good way for tax evasion but unless governments could benefit from it somehow, it'll never be accepted. I can only see cryptocurrency going as far as online-payments and social media tipping.

hey everyone wondering if anyone can help me, im having trouble getting my wallet to sync i have updated to the latest version and it seems to be stuck at block 414819, like 3 days behind, it has been doin this for about 24 hours now, if anyone could help me i would much appreciate it thanks Hi Had the same problem this morning with a friends wallet. Try running " C:\Program Files\Digibyte\Digibyte-qt -reindex" It took a bit of time to do the reindex, but it's working fine now. I'd suggest you take a backup of your wallet.dat before you start, just in case. Thanks alot mate, tried this and it worked cheers buddy

This is actually due to an error with the QT wallet that has since been fixed and that I wasn't aware of when releasing Digibit. I'll get it fixed up asap and release a new version of digibit. Are you using Windows?

Are you using Windows? Okay have updated the checkpoint file and tested importing private keys starting with both K and L sucesfully. You should be fine just to install it but you may want to backup the Digibit folder in appdata\roaming just to be sure Windows - https://mega.co.nz/#!nkFGjTCY!44SEsFEwrgfCaOZ2oCi59Xe7IV3ZjUa546ueZEcLS1ULinux - https://mega.co.nz/#!y1FXCAiZ!hLBt_8-X6exxk9eTufvrZkG4EhS1yjOqxTMQTSkafFQI'll get OSX updated tomorrow. Cheers.

Unless they could somehow find a way to tax bitcoin, the governments would never accept it. Big companies may as it could be a good way for tax evasion but unless governments could benefit from it somehow, it'll never be accepted. It will be based on use. They can tax it when it is used to buy goods electronically because retailers will have proof of payment used. Government takes it in BTC or has the retailer convert it to fiat for tax purposes. If government will take BTC, I can see BTC price manipulation to get the price up for when they try to convert it to fiat.

Buying in progress I was so lucky, I registered on bitstamp on the 3rd of Jan and this hack happened just after. Happy that I did not get involved in that site any further.

I may have to stop using the android wallet. I can't find any way to turn off that LOUD "coins sliding" sound when coins enter my wallet. Always scares the hell out of me when it goes off.
