What do you guys think the potential price point for DGB to be in the future? With so many coins in existence, I wouldn't imagine it being too high.

I was wondering this too. I guess it depends how big the crypto market will get and how fast. Then it depends how much market share digibyte will consume. IMO crypto is going to boom, and digibyte will rise to the top 5 within 5 years max (personal opinion).

I think if both these factors become true market cap could be £500 million, divide that by total coins in existence (I've no idea what this will be in 5 years, take 10 billion as an estimate) = 5 pence or like 7 cents

I think it will get to top 5 because of the genuine vibe I, and seemingly many others get from dgb. Also devs are still active and community is growing strong

1) easy user adaption
2) real world usage
3) unique concept

so far nothing has filled all 3

Whether or not you had anything to do with the price movement makes no difference. This coin was already steady climbing and will surpass the price it spiked to with time. If you decided to piggy back and P&D it good for you. Had you just bought and held you'd have made far more one this one. Sorry for your loss! Good luck though!! Smiley

Been a while since I've hit this topic so i'll chime in. Good to see digibytes price jump up but a lot of people need to be honest with themselves and remove those rosey glasses.

It was a pump and dump chosen coin by a group. This doesn't change the fact that digibyte is a good coin but it being a good coin wasn't the reason for the spontaneous out of nowhere rocket ship ride. If you think this then you are deluded. Its happened before on a mini one in feb to over 100 (I think it was 120-150) and it fell back to the 20 satoshi mark. I like this coin and i'm not attacking it but I am being logical and rational.

As per HR's troll spotting links I will also push forward a concept about "positive trolls". Trolling is not limited to negativity and a lot of people today associate views against the norm as being "trollish" behaviour. This is complete and utter bullshit. If anyone that went against the norm was a troll then the earth would still be flat right? We'd still worship Apollo, zeus etc... right?

I find the recent influx of overly excited people embarrassing... i'll be honest here and single you out blazin888. Your language and attacks are very rash when someone disagrees with a point. You cannot call them fudders when they provide a valid opinion. These people didn't come in the topic and be abusive they posted their thoughts and that's what a community and forum is, a location to provide all valid points and discussions even if you don't like what you hear. I think you need to take this in mind and rationally debate with people on the points with counter points and facts etc rather than dismiss them as idiots and attack personally.

This is my personal opinion on the recent events though I may be right or wrong but based on the fact that crypto isn't mainstream adopted and going off trends on other coins that aren't clear scams (paycoin xpy) its a usual pattern. Pump and dumpers obscure the data with false patterns. Large mass adoption would see weeks of buying uptrends and it would be a slower growth with peaks when someone gobbled up 10 million at a time, this didn't happen. With the mining pressure that was always around for auto selling (cryptsy wallet had issues due to this and if you look back in this topic I already long ago speculated this based on the constant same sell amounts that were on regular times). This is only going to become worse as the price is up now so multipools can target the coin so I suspect we will see a slow erosion of the price back to the 40 sat price, maybe 30 sat but this will take 2-3 weeks I suspect maybe a little more.

I don't think a pump group will attempt this with the coin for at least 6 months as there are people with coins on polo and cryptsy that bought higher that would want to neutralise their investment cost and will be waiting for this opportunity now that price has dropped and they have a bit of fear in them.

This is based on if the current dgb trend of use continues... there are some nice services with tofugear etc coming but aside from that there aren't community sites and large utility that take dgb that will cause more buy pressure.

I will be purchasing some more DGB come the 30-40 sat range as I think its highly likely to occur, I might be wrong but on a sensible investment strategy its better risk wise with the volume out there (5 billion coins) than to buy now at the current rates considering the strength of the walls both sides.

------

That's my 2 satoshi in opinions. I'll check back in here in 3-4 weeks to see how my educated opinion plays out.

Keep the good work up Smiley but at the same time everyone needs to be professional, respectful and open minded of others opinions expressed, else you are just a crypto savage.

Pump and Dumps are usually good for a coin but bad for the community that falls into the trap.

Most coins I've seen pumped usually rise around 20% at least following the dump. But it does leave a bad taste in those that fall for them mouths. Wish they'd stop then bagging the coins and start realising that their greed caused their loss in investment value. Everyone wants to be rich on a quick time risk and ignore the golden rule... if it seems to be too good to be true then it likely is. Its the long road that makes you rich not the short one.... well a lucky few do on the short road but the amount of people that fail on that road are the victims that allow that one to succeed.

Not quite.  They're both difficulty adjustment algorithms but DigiShield only works for one algorithm, whereas MultiShield was specifically designed for multi-algorithm difficulty adjustments.  DigiByte switched from DigiShield to MultiShield a long time ago, but you'll still see DigiShield named in a lot of DigiByte propaganda because it was adopted by several other cryptocurrencies.  MultiShield is currently only used by DigiByte.

Your call but i'd seriously wait a week or 2 watch the markets at cryptsy and poloniex. Over the space of 3 days its gone from 150 sat to 98 sat that's a 1/3 drop... i.e. you could buy 33% more dgb that a bunch. Wait the week watch the trends on buy sell and filter the noise.

Its your money but if you love dgb and want the most you can get of it i'd ride a little to watch especially after a big pump up and slow down. The wise investors prospers.

oh cool. thanks for the clarification on that.

yea...i just saw Ultracoin saying that it uses a "Digishield Variant".

Digibyte is seriously undervalued regardless of the recent price pump. 1000 sat isn't even enough to justify its true value as of now. that should be the new floor. its potential value is easily >10000 sat once it realizes that potential (not talking about *full* potential yet!).

Jared spotted the tail tail signs of a pump and decided not to feed it but concentrate on coding and getting things ready for DigiSpeed. There is plenty of speculation here about a massive drop in price from here on in still. Personally I don’t think it should necessarily  happen but if it does I will be buying and I assure you I won’t be alone, I’m happy to buy more DGB then because even the 988 sat spike of the pump is cheap DigiByte in my opinion ,when we consider the long term potential of this coin. My advice to people that bought DGB during this pump would be to hold your bag as they put it and wait patiently for the price to climb up to where you bought in because I don’t see any reason why DigiByte shouldn’t be there anyway, it is a highly undervalued coin. The pumpers spent months pushing the price of this coin down to buy in as low as possible so they could make money out of this pump, there is no reason to expect the price of DGB to fall back to these prices unless you sell now and for whatever reason you were attracted to this coin, I think you got lucky because it is a good one!

Wasn't having a go at you was just saying the hyping likes of blazin888 is an example of a "positive" troll action Smiley its over excitedness but its not realistic but I still respect it as his opinion. I do however find him/her to be quite rude and offensive in attackings considering that they came onboard in the price rise with such strength to force themselves in appearing to be a long term supporter.

Just making an opinion that it is possible to have positive and negative trolls and that trolling isn't necessarily always a negative stand on an issue Smiley.

I respect the old guard like yourself HR I just thought i'd chime in heh.

But again I do respect blazin888's opinion but I don't respect how they put it forward and how they dealt with others in this topic.. i know they like digibyte but i don't think blazin888 realises that how they come across doesn't seem professional and friendly for new people and can do more harm than good when they say they love the coin.

There might be some more rallies over 100 before it ultimately goes back to the 30-40 levels. I don't think we will see the 20s again.

@o0o0,

There's a difference between constructive criticism and disruption. I put you in the first category, but you can review the literature to confirm that I'm not mistaken.  Wink

Nice to hear from you again.  Smiley

I agree o0o0, I think this is the general opinion of the community on this subject. Nice to see you around again by the way!
