It was quite a jump from yesterday, although I only profited at 0.01586 BTC/MH/Day with my non-rented rig pointed at MC, so I'm not quite sure how that overall profit number works (maybe those with higher hashrates than mine are profiting more and it averages out between them and me.)

The only reason I'm still on MC at all is because that rig is not yet stable enough for me to rent out.

I'm still making a notable amount more here for the lowest prices I've ever leased at (you know, in the long 2.5 week history of being a Rig Lord!) Smiley

Note to customers about recent attack on bitcoin network. You may see following glitches:

- two outgoing transactions going to same address with same amount as if site paid for rig two times

This happens due to newly injected modified txid by bitcoin hackers in an attempt to scam exchanges. They don't modify only their txids but all over the network (probably to mask who they are). Only one of these transactions will be eventually confirmed. So nothing to worry about from your side. The only drawback is that you may have issues hiring more rigs either due to temporary lower balance or trying to spend coins that were already spent which brings us to second problem...

- error when hiring rentable rig

This happens due to previous "doubled" transactions and actual error reported is that you are trying to spend coins already spent. I don't know how BTC network works in depth, but this has something to do with how bitcoin handles which coins are which. When your doubled transactions are gone, this problem is gone too. How to resolve it if you need to hire more, but don't have time to wait? One idea is to load more BTC.

That's excellent news! If the trend continues and if DOGE will keep doing so well, Middlecoin will reach 0.025 BTC/Mh/day in a few days! This means that you should hire all rigs with <0.025 BTC/Mh/day ASAP and start mining at Middlecoin! Wink

Here is the math:

The BTC is the total earned BTC ( Balance + unexchanged + immature ) , as you MUST take these into account to accurately calculate how much you earn, as h2o tends to let a unchanged balance build up.. You cannot calculate simply from what is paid out.

Earnings for the following two previous payout time periods on middlecoin:

230 BTC - Feb. 9 @ 9am - beginning balance
530 BTC - Feb 10 @ 9am - ending balance
-----
300 BTC / 21,000 MH/s = .0142 BTC/Mh/Day

--------------------
271 BTC - Feb 10 @ 9am - beginning balance
647 BTC - Feb 11 @ 9am - ending balance
----
376 BTC / 21,000 MH/s = .0179 BTC/Mh/Day

Statistics are retrieved from http://stratehm.net

Well I wont hire the rigs, but I will put the price of my rigs higher than middlecoins earnings and set my miners to mine on middlecoin, and if somebody wants to rent my rigs they will have to pay me more than middlecoin is paying me...

Middlecoin paying above 0.015 BTC/MH/day is more or less just illusion. Everytime I check past payouts for any kind of rig in the list, the calculation is more like 0.01 BTC/MH/day or even less. Maybe on some good days up to 0.013 BTC/MH/day.

The thing is you cannot calculate simply on payouts, as he tends to let unexchanged accumulate, you have take it one day at a time, and have detailed stats for the whole pool (not just one miner) to get a real average (including unexchanged+immature+balance) , http://stratehm.net/ has those stats. Simply because the difficulty is so high that earnings from two miners even equal hashing power may differ on the same day.

This world of cryptocoins is constantly fluctuating, so one day it may be .009 bt/mh/day , the next maybe .018, the next maybe .025, then back down to .01 ... So everyday I am calculating to make sure that I never set my rigs rental price below middlecoins previous days earnings, of course I will raise my price as high as the demand is there, but never lower than middlecoin..

And for the record LeaseRigs's rental prices have never gone below middlecoins earnings except today and one previous day. So it is not really a problem, but I still keep an eye on it..

so you work it out that way so that unexchanged + immature are included and its not effected that they are carried through? Plus do you need to be mining consistantly to benefit from the unexchanges and unconfirmed?

Isnt the middlecoin a historic profit whereas pricing your hire is current, so you dont really know what middlecoin will make today, so you are adjusting your rig price to yesterdays profit which may lower or higher?

Its a very good point of course, but how does middlecoin average out over a month?

Would it be a better pricing guide to use an average over a week, or 2 weeks. or something rather than a volotile day to day price.

I tried to refresh wallet to remove all these unconfirmed double transactions but without success. There is no tool available for this to be done. Everyone that was a victim of this attack, just hold on, your BTCs are not lost, just locked. You will get them once the solution is made by someone (either bitcoin devs update wallet or someone else).

Here is a topic that seems to have some solutions to this problem.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=231309.0

I also simply did a "Reset Blockchain and Transactions" in my multibit client to a time before the double amount, and it disappeared, everything back to normal.

EDIT:

This one also: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=35214.0

It is not so simple if you use accounts, I have thousands of keys. Doing this manually is no go. Waiting for software solution to fix it, no other way.

Maybe for you, but for the typical LeaseRig user, i.e. renter, he can do it, and get his money back in his wallet..

I just realized / remembered , that the renter has an escrow with you to buy rigs... sorry.

But maybe you could create a script that would reset all your wallets.

1. No, its not affected that they are carried through because I take the difference from the beginning of the day to the end, so Im getting only what was actually earned that day.

2. No, when my miners are on middlecoin ( when not rented out ) Im earning also unexchanged, immature, and my balance is accumulating, just much slower than if I was on full time. And yes even if you stop mining the unexchaged and immature eventually make it to your balance and into you BTC wallet.

3. Yes, the rate Im calculating is from the past few hours, or the from the past payout, but I can also watch the stats and if I see some unexchanged or balance building fast I can take a reading of a small portion of lets say the previous two hours before right now and project into the future what would be the days current earning if the rate continues as it is going. Well I lower my rig price to keep my rig near or at the top of the rig list up until I feel that I would be making less than is possible from middlecoin from the current projected or previous day, then I wont lower the price any more whether or not Im near the top of the rig list.

4. Obviously middlecoin averaged out over the month is much less than you could make on LeaseRig, like I said a little while ago I have only noticed two times where rigs where being leased for less than what was being made on middlecoin. I just try to make sure I always make more than middlecoin, or when I can't I mine there. ( Which is rare )

5. Well when you use an average you find middlecoin is about .0135 to .014 btc/mh/day ,  the thing is in the crypto wildwest you have to go day by day as things are very volatile in the first place. That is if you want to maximize your profits, If you dont want to worry so much or take so much time you can always just keep your rig at the top of the list with the lowest prices, your monthly average will still be better than middlecoin, but not the maximum.

Want to know an interesting thing, since my posting about the middlecoin current rate both of my rigs have been rented out and the renters are mining on middlecoin with them... go figure. One was already rented out 32 hours ago for .018 BTC/mh/day, but the renter switched to middlecoin recently. And my other rig was just rented for .0204 BTC/mh/day for 24hrs and they immediately started mining on middlecoin..

Needless to say my renters don't usually mine on middlecoin.

I had planned to do some heavy duty work on pool management and stats subsystem of the service for today, but due to these recent events with bitcoin attacks, I have decided to do some light work. As was suggested some post ago, a filter feature is needed.

Filters are up! Please test them and report any issues. You can now find certain rigs much easier. Filters are also solved with GET method, so you can bookmark URL for fast filtering out certain type of rigs without reentering data in form (eg. if you are only ever interested in rigs from certain location, or if you are always interested to hire rigs for min 24 hours, etc).
