Super secure hashing: 9 rounds of hashing from 6 hashing functions (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein). 3 rounds apply a random hashing function.

  • 247 million FairQuarks will be mined in ~ 12 months, after that ~ 1 million FRQ annually
  • Block average time: 60 seconds
  • Difficulty retarget time: 1 hour (max. 10% up or 50% down)
  • Block reward: 2048 at first, halving every 42 days approx
  • Network port: 8008
  • RPC port: 9008
QRK specs https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260031.0 :
Quote
* Super secure hashing: 9 rounds of hashing from 6 hashing functions (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein). 3 rounds apply a random hashing function.
* CPU mining
* Quick block generation: 30 seconds
* 2048 QRK per block (halving every 60480 blocks ~ 3 weeks)
* Block reward will never drop below 1 QRK
* Total of 247 million QRK will be mined in ~ 6 months, after that ~ 1 million QRK p.a. (~ 0.5% p.a inflation)
* Difficulty retargets every 20 blocks (maximum 10% up or 50% down)

If you feel Quarkcoin, which had a totally fair start without any premining, was an unfair instamine, why did you chose to only double the block halving time? Also WTF @ premine.

Because they are "Highly skilled & motivated Finnish development team".

Lol - they removed the text from the OP that said

"we can't guarantee we will use the premine as we promise you'll just have to hope we do."

put that bit back it was the best part.

although

"Pre-mining has been accomplished by mining normal blocks instead of including premined coins in the first block. "

that is a classic too.

This is much more fair, they premined normal sized blocks not just 1 big block - everything is okay then LOL

After seeing Quark’s superior potential ruined with 98+% premine,
We decided to make a better, more fair alternative!

FairQuark - FRQ

Main Specs

  • Planned for more long term than original Quark
  • No special hardware needed, start mining with your CPU now!
  • Highly skilled & motivated Finnish development team
  • Fast & secure transactions, suitable for micropayments also!
  • 4% fair pre-mine, explained on this topic

4% Fair Pre-Mine - funds are given as bounties and giveaways to help FairQuark community

Quote
We know nobody likes pre-mined coins. Why do we still have a pre-mine of 4%?

We know that by pre-mining FairQuark it's easier for us to promote it and therefore push the adoption of FRQ and help the community.

Pre-mining is not salary for developer team. It is used purely to promote FairQuark, get more interested people onboard and for some server payments for first months. You can track usage of pre-mined coins from this link http://finder.fairquark.com/address/qLSALnUEFuBR5tjFudfHJx9SR3qAcfR2oY

Pre-mining has been accomplished by mining normal blocks instead of including premined coins in the first block.

Bounties:

  • Giveaways (forum & our irc channel #fairquark @ freenode)
  • Atleast 1st/2nd exchange
  • Atleast 1st/2nd mining pool (one p2pool and one MPOS or such)
  • Services
  • Shops

Hey, fairnoobs, QRK was not 98% premined, it was instamined.
Proof: QRK announced 21 July 2013 - 12:05 PM here: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/865-quark-qrk-information/
First block was mined 2013-07-21 12:03:50 http://quarkexplorer.com/block/00000cae787f2a1468740995fdbdadbd65e52026e485a4c3965e12f775a21f91
If your fairclone with fair 4% premine dies tomorrow, it will be fair. I hope it will.
