What now, impatient whale? I don`t get it...He must be confident in the future of DASH and very eager to have MNs.

Well, LTC was trending near 0.03 for quite a while, despite having 6x coins and a 10fold emission that required millions of dollars to absorb. DRK doing 0.03+ is nothing in comparison.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Guys, i am having some trouble with updating the wallet on mac. So i got the dash-qt and coppied wallet.dat from darkcoin, yet i dont have an access to the DASH?
 what am I doing wrong?

You dropped the DRK wallet.dat into the new dash data folder, correct? Renamed your darkcoin.conf to dash.conf? Updated appropriate shortcuts?

Bump.
I was quite concerned when I heard you were borrowing for your masternode, so I am glad this is working out for you. And yes I concure, Splawik21 is someone you can trust, he and his share service have been a great help to me, as I approach a masternode of my own.

man i got loan and bought @ 0.0066 5 days before the great RISE Cheesy

so in 10 days from 7 BTC that i bought i double it, hell even tripple it... thats why sold 550 DASH and get that loan back and minus on bank and one more loan Cheesy

i call my self lucky and ballsy man for doing that Cheesy

+1

That's why it would not be shocking if DASH was near 0.03 * 6 = 0.18  Smiley

4-hour's started a convergeance and the 1-hour's crossing over to the upside. I still think we've got at least a day to go before any major action either way. Possibly a week because what often happens in this market is that a 2 day correction completes, and then things stabilise for a week before and new moves. On the other hand, we may be in the middle of a major long term revaluation in which case there could be "quakes" every few days.

Major dump is not on the cards this year though (at least not like the one that followed the 2014 high) because the landscape is completely different from last year. So much of the coin supply is now in service, collateralising the network. Track records exist, development is being priced in that wasn't etc etc.

Same argument could be made for BTC though (even though it's about 100x times less awesome feature wise than DRK DASH). When there's money to be made, common sense doesn't apply all the time.

Wasn't there one of you guys who knew someone on Bitfinex and made Darkcoin happen on there in the first place? Can you make margin trading possible? Cryptsy will keep all the Darkcoin volume as long as people don't have a reason to switch over to Bitfinex.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Same argument could be made for BTC though

Indeed - in principle it could. But Dash only has a mere 0.7% of BTCs marketcap. That gives it an absolutely phenomenal potential upside given that it's technically poised to plug straight into the entire BTC commercial and retail infrastructure that's been developed over the last year.

Even as a mere hedge it's got huge upside.

The rebranding is just the icing on the cake for me - it's opened the last gate to actual real world retail adoption which is territory that's eluded every single altcoin that ever walked the earth (if you don't count the Bitcoin 2's, i.e. asset trading etc).

The reason it's elluded all of them is because there was no commercial driver. For dash, however, there is and it's monetary one, not a technological one which makes it even more compelling. In terms of its market facing monetary profile, this project has done everything right so far and that's why it still exists after probably the most brutally competitive year that crypto will ever see. To have got through that and ended up in the top 5 with half litecoin's marketcap and a ready-to-play legacy compliant commercial interface is some position to be in IMO.

If DRK is to be used just for gambling purposes (so as to avoid the fungibility problems of BTC with "gambling money"), DRK should be able to take a couple % of the BTC marketcap - which is already quite heavy with gambling.

And I'm not even mentioning other uses... like...well... Dark Markets.

If a single dark market has like 130.000 BTCs / 1% of BTC marketcap, well... ok. Figure out the rest.

Open letter to the Dash community,

In order to help the good people that have succumbed to the temptation of quoting trolls, I have finally come up with a helpful solution for those poor addicts who just can't seem to stop.  It saddens me greatly when people I normally enjoy reading posts from for their insightful comments and enthusiasm for this project go down that dark road.  So in order to help these fine people kick the abhorrent habit of feeding the trolls I am implementing a Dash Troll Jar.

Much like the good old fashioned curse jar where you have to drop a dollar in the jar every time you utter a curse word.  Every time you quote a known troll you must donate .5 Dash to the troll jar.  For feeding the trolls it will be .1 Dash.  This will be an honor system that is completely voluntary due to my libertarian nature and not wanting to push my personal standards of conduct on other people.  It is a purely selfless way for me to help support the Dash community by providing an incentive for you to help yourself quit this harmful and disgusting addiction.

Message: Must donate to the troll jar when quoting trolls

all proceeds will go towards the 881 Dash I need to set up a masternode Tongue

regards,

RRodent

Have you guys noticed dash network slow downs lately or is it just me?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied
