I'm just wondering, wouldn't it just be easier to create a new Dash wallet. Then I have my Darkcoin wallet open and my Dash wallet, I send my Darkcoin to my Dash wallet, would this work?

Hey guys, I'm new to this. I have a Darkcoin wallet. Do I just download the Dash wallet and everything should work?
I'm trying to understand these instructions:https://dashtalk.org/threads/11-1-dash-wallet.4450/
I have no idea how to find .darkcoin and the darkcoin.conf, never done this before, can someone make a quick video, so I don't lose my darkcoin.
I don't understand how to do this:
Linux & Mac : Goto ~/ and move .darkcoin to .dash
2.) Move darkcoin.conf to dash.conf
It means just rename the folder .darkcoin to .dash placed in /home/youruser/ and rename the file in it darkcoin.conf to dash.conf. (.darkcoin is a hidden folder, press ctrl + h in the home folder and you will see hidden files and folders) You can also do that by the terminal using the command mv $ mv ~/.darkcoin ~/.dash $ mv ~/.dash/darkcoin.conf ~/.dash/dash.conf For a better security of your wallet check https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/5614/using-dumpprivkey-to-make-a-paper-backup^ this was for a linux. In case you are using a mac the darkcoin data dir should be located in ~/Library/Application Support/Darkcoin/ I see a folder inside of Application Support called Darkcoin. So do I rename this folder to Dash? Also, I don't see a file called darkcoin.conf Yup rename it to Dash. There's no darkcoin.conf in the folder Darkcoin? If so, just launch the new wallet Dash-qt.

I looked and didn't have a darkcoin.conf file. I loaded up DASH Core, and it works, but it's been really laggy for me the last few weeks, and that's still continuing, so I can't leave it open. It just keeps going not responding all the time. I'm on Windows 32-bit. Am I the only one having these problems? I don't know why it's been like this lately.

set ur buys around .0160 ...this is nice healthy correction In this second wave we don't have vertoe's and stonehedge's volumes to dump - so I don't expect we will see such a deeps. I bet Directbet wished they had waited a week sell your bmw and come back. Wait a week and get a new one. You have no idea the lengths I am going to find the business case to buy back in. I've got my accountant on it...discussing it with Mrs Hedge... Its the price and limited supply thats getting me. In the absence of a time machine I'd love to find somebody willing to give me a second chance with a gratuity discount depending on the volume I buy. A man can dream. Anyway, lottery night in the UK so if the market gets pumped by £4m overnight you know who won it. Hi stonehedge, I'll make this offer publicly, I've had a long, hard think about it and I would be prepared to offer you up to 30,000 DASH at the market price when the fiat funds are ready to be transferred, this would give you a significantly better price than trying to buy that sort of quantity on the exchanges with their low liquidity on the ask side atm and the slippage this would cause. Really I would prefer you to be buying on the exchanges as this would push up the price of the coin and my holdings considerably, but I'm happy to offer you this chance to get back to where you were coin wise if you do decide to go ahead with that and any lower amount of coins would be fine as well, or repeat buys up to that total amount but spread over any time period you wished, using the market price at the time of the transactions. So this isn't charity, I already have one of those that I support, but it at least allows you a way to get back in the game and who knows, if the coins do well then it may be possible to sell a few down the line and even recoup the fiat that you've put in or some of it, though there are no guarantees obviously. This offer is only made to stonehedge, I'm not looking to sell coins to anyone else or at all and especially not in bulk as this will mean taking down some of my Masternodes which I hadn't planned on doing, but would in this one case. You can answer in the thread or by PM as you like, all the best with your negotiations and deliberations, -Otoh :-)

not so sure about an angel. Its a good way to exit out of 30k without crashing your holdings. Otoh has a lot of dark. Getting rid of 30k at a set price kills some risk.

Big respect for that Otoh!
Actually, Otoh's just looking for one of these for his garage and decided to offload some loose change on Stonehedge....

"It's a Dash, not a coin"
"Then why was it originally called XCOIN and then DarkCOIN and why did you need to steal the DashCOIN website and twitter and Github?"
"..."
Ok, quick relapse into troll feeding... I was on step 3 of my 12 step programme of the Anti-Troll Anonymous support group. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA !! Ding-dong! Who's there? Troll... Troll who? The troll who neglects to face real life, that the Dashcoin Dev SOLD his accounts to an interested party, yet decided to simply live in denial and FUD, for FUD's sake. Ok Ghost... now you need to go to whatever step it is that entails apologizing. Get back on the wagon man.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

Hi Guys, all exchanges have been advised and they have received an official statement plus the new official logo and the new official favicon for those that use it.
There is going to be some overlap as exchanges update, it may take a couple of days. During that time is likely that services like coinmarketcap, Bitcoinwisdom and coingecko, wont have accurate data as they depend on the exchanges APIs, so be mindful of this, the process will take a few days.
Also, informational websites like Bitcoinwisdom, will need to make changes too, so dont rely too much on this as we transition. Just check directly on the exchanges for accurate pricing during the re-branding process.
