Nope coin aging has been going on since its release from what I understand, so it pays to stake even before PoSV. Atleast that is how I read it.

 I purchased $50 in RDD about 2 months ago, I now have over 1 BTC (600ish USD) and it seems to be rising! And with all the hype with PoSV and mining coming to an end (1% left) I am holding for more!
