do we need to uninstall the old version first no, not this time, just let the installer overwrite your wallet and you should be ok, have a backup of your files anyway, just to be safe, but there is no need to delete any files as there is no blockchain fork etc, it was just some code that was changed in the wallet itself. No need to delete anything.

Is it bad news for reddcoin that reddit is hiring a cryptocurrency engineer?
Took this line of text, looks like they want to write tools that benefit cryptocurrency, rather than create their own currency. "What we are interested in doing is evaluating the cryptocurrency landscape to see what high-leverage projects reddit can and should undertake that only reddit is in a position to undertake which would benefit cryptocurrency and related technologies in general. We're not interested in creating a competing "Yet Another <Whatever>" if someone else is already doing it. For this we need someone who can understand cryptocurrency very well and consequently, see what tools, features, and infrastructure may be missing or which the world needs next... and then to build it."

Just for anyone that is using Trademybit scrypt MP, it is still mining Reddcoin. I have messaged Trademybit in every way I can think of, but maybe someone here has another way to get direct hold of them? Also to let anyone here that is sending their scrypt hash over to them to take a look at what they are actually mining, maybe point there miner at a specific coin until Reddcoin is removed from their auto switching? Just a thought and trying to help Have a Good Day!

Hi, didn't get any answers last hour on reddit and have some real problems imo. For that reason i am trying here again. Below in this thread I had a discussion but still didn't get the problem solved. My status at the moment. I did something wrong with fix and don't manage to get my old wallet back. At the moment I uninstalled reddcoin and download the 1.3.1.0 again hoping to be able to replace the wallet.dat by my previous wallet.dat. The problem is I cannot find the place where the wallet.dat is located (pretty strange). On a usb-stick I have a back-up from the older wallet.dat. I am using windows 8. Can any one help me., to get my RDD coins back. I will tip 5,000,000 RDD to the person who manages to help me getting my old wallet and coins back.

If you have a backup of the old wallet.dat on a usb-stick, it's good. Simply uninstall the version 1.3. and install 1.3.1. Start the version 1.3.1 and allow time for synchronization. After complete synchronization close the wallet. And go on the path c: \ users \ -your username- \ appdata \ roaming and locate the ReddCoin folder. In this folder there is a wallet.dat file. Replace it with the old wallet.dat file. Start again wallet 1.3.1. If you do not see your coins again, type in the console (wallet\debug window) "repairwallet" command(without "") and press Enter. Wait 1-10 minutes, and coins appear. If this does not help, write me a PM, I'll help.

Just a heads up for those that might be using Genesis Mining and have been mining RDD coin with them, with your hashpower like myself.
When the coin became POSV, they changed the setup so that now, like Auto BTC and Auto DRK, you will mine profitable scrypt coins and then each day they will be converted into RDD coins and paid into your account.
So you can keep on mining RDD if you wish.

I think RDD need merchant who accept RDD as payment. I do not want to just invest in RDD but buy some stuff using RDD, and I think It will make RDD will grow bigger.

Baaa boom!
First stake has arrived and it is of shocking amount: Credit: 150 488.55460905 RDD (matures in 49 more blocks) 150K approx, that is a lot.. and caught by surprise...
Beautiful work by reddcoin dev team, everything appears to be stable, checking market to see (but I doubt it) of any "opportunity" on low as I would like to up my total amount if at all possible.
This is GREAT coin
0 energy was spent, 0 ASIC equipment, just left wallet up and running overnight, POSv is in effect.. fascinating...

Dan, so I have 2 million total and was "hunting" for another 2 yesterday on low, like at 21 ~ 25 satoshi.. but these days are over, trust me, at 750K you looking approx half maybe 70K which is still a lot, do please leave wallet running non stop there is a randomness component built into it brb scanning all exchanges. but also possible engaging multipool, depends on hash rate/reward... but this is a great opportunity this coin you got, its gonna be big

Snowcrawl, Thanks for that! I did exactly what you said except for one thing. I did not delete the new wallet.dat file. Also Lemon and fries I did not wait for it to finish syncing, so maybe if I had waited the coin had would have returned to the wallet. What I managed to do was restore the old wallet and luckily the coin was still there. Phew! So I decided to get someone else to set up a Reddcoin wallet on their computer and sent the coin to their wallet. Deleted everything on my computer and ran the new v1.3.1.0, thinking it would be easy, but no, I am stil getting this msgs,
"Assertion failed! Program... File: src/checkpoint.cpp Line 285
Expression: mapBlockIndex.count(hashSyncCheckpoint)"
It seems I can't win, what with each wallet I am trying to download giving me issues!
Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it. On hindsight if I had waited for the wallet to sync I might have been ok! Any suggestions are gladly received on my new issue. i do have the old wallet.dat on a USB
