Just received miner but there appears to be thermal compound all over the PCB dripping from screws?? wtf?

pics attached

I'm afraid to even start mining.. It's running into the ASICs etc... What should I do?

It's non-conductive, you dont have to do anything

I have an unboxing youtube video (posted in the custom hardware section) where I stopped in the middle of the video because I had the same thing that you have.  It was very easy to wipe off.  Just do it carefully.  I used a lot tissues and for the corners of those screws, i used cotton swab tips with rotating motion.  Not bad at all, and I was being careful not to put too much pressure on the circuits or scratch them.

Even after all of that, it's worth it as the latest Ant S1 is giving me 2 GH/s faster performance than my older Ant S1 (from GB5) that didn't have thermal pastes, both OC'ed.

Clean it with thermal degreaser wipes from local PC shop. I checked my unit and it had a little mess on it but not as bad. Had a few problems getting it to connect up so had to press the reset button to restore to factory then also had to update firmware as wasn't hashing.

However all working in perfect order so far.

I just cleaned with cotton swabs as well, but that is as far as I have gotten with setting it up.

I need to locate jumper wire and then figure out how to actually run it!

Does the address you sent your payment to still show a balance, or was it transferred to a different wallet? Mine's still sitting in the payment wallet.

Well then you're probably en route from the experiences I've heard so far. On the other hand, mine was not, which leads me to be more concerned that the order got screwed up somehow and Sushi never got it. Very disconcerting!

You want to watch a youtube video?  lol.  It's fairly easy with the jumper wire.  I think you can even use a paper clip, but I'm not using one, so I don't know for sure.

If you're bored and have plenty of time; first post above has a youtube video unboxing and setup.  Just skip around to the section you need.

I went and found your posts before I saw this, very helpful stuff. Just watched the other video; will have to check that dropbox situation out!

I got my two up and running. I wanted to change the ip and set the WAN instead of LAN and had to find the tiny teeny reset button and redo the settings. no issues with the second unit. I over locked one and let the other stock for now. is a lot easier to use Winscp instead of terminal to make the edits. Good service for Sushi, fast and in perfect contdition.

I spent all day in hospital with my housemate today wondering if UPS might be sneaking upto the house while I was away.
I walked home after 4PM and walked in the gate WITH the UPS guy. I couldn't have timed it better.  Grin
Quickly rushed off to get another PSU and now my 2nd AntMiner is up and running.  Cheesy  Cool
Just like the first one, dead easy to setup. It's IP even matched my network already.

Thank you Sushi and the gang.  Smiley

P.S. I was #340 and the destination was Australia if that helps others.
I ordered on the 21st and it was sent on the 23rd. below is my tracking list to show most of the waiting time was UPS transit time and not Sushi/Bitmain related. ;-)

Old server PSU, you just need some wires and for $20 you have better PSU than those new 100$ PSUs.
