231.552 GH/s

Has it gone up or down since yesterday?

up, since last night even

Where do you see this?
My miner says something completely different Smiley

Buried deep within the thread you will find that it is confusing on purpose Wink It plays to the advantage of security, at least for a time.

For now the coin is sustainable, the dev team has power we haven't even added to the network yet. I myself am prepared to invest my own BTC to buy more. To an extent.

The preferable thing would be to see transaction volume increase, because that is the key.

As much as we trust and love you guys, focusing the mining power in the hands of the dev team (or anyone else for that matter) is still kind of a bad thing for the cryptocurrency.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

we agree 100%, which is why we are being careful to balance it as much as possible. On the other hand, we had to weigh the risks and do what is appropriate to protect the network to a reasonable extent. Especially with it being a SHA.

Yeah, I still don't think it was a good idea... even though in a few years we'll probably have ASICs for every algo which exists today, using another algorithm would at least put off the problem a bit into the future.

The amount we can provide is limted in the grand scheme of things. Frankly there are rigs out there right now that can destroy the network at any moment. I'm on board with the point you are making, but at the same time it wouldn't have been the same experiment with a different algo.

Which is why exchanges might have a hard time putting the coin up.  Once it's up, it'll get noticed by tons of people...and not all people have good intentions.

I support the idea of uasteel.

I think someone should create a new topic in the Altcoins section: "PMC marketing & promotion"
All ideas for better marketing of PMC can be collected here.

This would have some advantages:
1. This provides a better dissemination in the forum.
2. All ideas can be collected and be organized from one person.

We should also establish a marketing fund. A trusted member should manages the PMC fund for meaningful promotions (not only for giveaways). I would like to participate here with some PMC.

We should take a example from the NXT project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.0

I understand the point of the experiment, but this coin is, as has been stated before, outgrowing its crib. And while with current 75BTC cap it might not be worth the hassle, if it hits bigger, it can crash very hard when somebody points a terahash miner at it.

And while there are big Scrypt rigs, using an algorithm which isn't entirely hopeless on GPUs would allow all members of the community to try and outweigh the big miners. As it is now, you'd need at least a block erupter, and not everyone has one of those.

So, just my two uPMC - even judging all the points against it, I'd still be advocating a hardfork to a different algo before it's too late.

Who created the Premine logo? I want to make a vector logo from the actual one, so it's scalable.

Can you please tell Poloniex to update the PMC-Logo on their Start-Page?
