Ethereum’s Byzantium hard fork went into effect Monday morning, initiating the first phase of the platform’s latest protocol upgrade.
The Byzantium fork is considered to be the first half of Metropolis, a protocol upgrade that has been planned since 2015. It introduces nine ethereum improvement protocols (EIPs) designed to enhance the network’s privacy, scalability, and security. The second phase — Constantinople — does not yet have an official release date but is tentatively scheduled for 2018.

yeah, it was the average for the last 5000 blocks which included some of the blocks before the fork, now it's back to 15s.

On another note, the Ethereum Network pending transactions are almost empty now! impressive! I made a tx with only 4 GWEI, and it was confirmed in less than a minute!!

in the future the ETH will move to POS, the DASH like POS now, 1000 coins must be for this, it is very expensive, but 1000 ETC while inexpensive, buy while the price is low

No, PoS won't happen for at least 2 years from now, and even then it will be gradual. This fork was for general improvements, here's a post with a lot of resources about it:

https://blog.ethereum.org/2017/10/12/byzantium-hf-announcement/

Now is a good time to mine ethereum, after the fork, miners are making slightly more money.

Literally no one was expecting that, Ethereum foundation is not as messy as bitcoin, everyone was in support of the fork, and they have measures to force the miners to follow the fork, like the built-in ice-age.

Did the price actually go up pre-fork because some thought they would get a new coin out of this? That would explain why price is going down now(no new coin), I mean the fork was a success so price should be rising.

Looking at the ETH/EUR rates, actually ETH dipped before the fork at about ~270 EUR per coin.

So it seems pretty stable now, going back and forth between 280 and 290 EUR per coin.

After successful fork and celebration my expectation was to see quick rise in price. I think we have to wait for few more days to see the implementation and effect of that fork. I have transferred some portion into Ethereum at best price already to benefit the any increase.
