Sorry for noob Q, but anyway... My question is about Metropolis HF, I have read in different resources e.g. " https://www.coindesk.com/ethereums-big-switch-the-new-roadmap-to-proof-of-stake/" that with this update Ethereum will be POS, and as I know POS need much less HR than POW, if this is true, current miners will have 3 options: 1- switch to another currency 2- create a another copy and stay there (like BCC) 3- do nothing and waste hardware resource more willing that the answer be "switch to another currency" if so, how this will affect market? or I am totally wrong? Well it's sure that people who bought GPU won't stay there and do nothing with it: they will switch their hashrate to another (or more probably other) currency(ies). They probably won't create a copy like BCC because of the difficulty bomb devs implemented in the ETH protocol from the beginning as an incentive to switch to PoS. This will probably push up (or down because miners are often mining and dumping the most profitable coin) some other currencies in a way I can't predict. But that doesn't mean ETH won't have any support by then: people holding ETH will stack (sometimes while using their GPU mining for another coin) and doing this will continue to make the network live long (and prosper). Bottom line: PoS for ETH is not for this year (Byzantium is for Oct. 17th, Constantinople has no estimated release date yet, so Serenity - which will bring PoS to ETH - is still a bit down the road), so we will have plenty of time to discuss the pros and cons when we will have more insights about how the dev team plan to implement it. my frineds says ethereum ill be die, after POW ended? is this real? when the POW end?

GPU will be used elsewhere and stacking, if properly implemented, is a way to encourage people protecting the network which can be as rewarding as PoW. The only difference is that stackers have to buy ETH while miners have to buy hashrate (and power) in order to get some piece of the cake. |

Here's the million dollar question:
Who's going to have bigger gains in the next 6 months? ETH or BTC?
I think we're going to see $1000 ethers in the next 3-6 months.
With Metropolis, Caspar and Sharding coming, people are start buying ETH like crazy IMO.
Also the development of the ENS will be revolutionary. I think a lot of people are sleeping on this that.
I'll hold the coins. I also think that there will be 1000))) After Metropolis 500 and then eventually into space. |

What would be the best pool to mine ETH in North Europe at the moment. Lowest ping and such.
It is not clear why it is in Northern Europe. I personally use ethermine. Perhaps there is better, but I still like it. Still think ethereum is the favorite for mining, despite the situation nowadays. |

Who else agrees with me that ICOs shouldn't be regulated because the market will self-regulate? And the definition of companies should be changed so that tokens can mean shares as well?
This is what I call technological advancement, not the same inefficient institutions trying to lead technology on its ways.

I've been thinking of buying a new display adapter. Not just for mining but being able to mine ETH is a nice bonus. I haven't been on track of new tech at all. What is the most sensible display adapter currently for ETH?

Good news for Ethereum. Telecom Giant KDDI joins Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. KDDI, which is ranked number 219 on the Fortune Global 500 list, also revealed it is working with Japanese startup Couger on a smart contracts proof-of-concept built using technology developed through the enterprise-focused ethereum consortium. KDDI's work with blockchain will also see it partnering with blockchain startup Trident-Arts and legal tech firm Kentauros Works.

We can ask John McAfee to explains his vision? BItcoin is still Number 1 because it is most adopted, BCH is cheap copy with good support of whales.. Your friend is clueless. POS will make Ethereum thrive even more. I would like someone to explain to me why do you think POS will be better than current POW? All those miners will go to mine ETC, Monero, Zcash and you will lose them. Pow is always better than POS reason are simple - They are supporters while they mining and holding, they are helping a network to stay strong and secure. This is my opinion. |
