The Ethereum project needs a big performance breakthrough. At present, ETH projects do not have too many advantages, and the price basically follows the trend of BTC.

I noticed Ethereum is a scripting system contract module, complete with state Turing, married a blockchain and was developed with a simple philosophy, the possibility of universal access and generalized objective of the project is to provide a platform for decentralized applications - one of the world android electronic money.

https://app.algory.io/app/cryptonews/108446/icos-see-their-worst-week-of-2018Hard times for Ethereum, massive dump of existing ICO funds, no new money into new ones... What are other problems which could cause that Ethereum price did not recover? Even Dash has gained over 50% in terms of BTC (much more in USD(!)) and what is going on with ETH?

My friend sold his ico tokens for Ethereum and went abroad, to visit his relatives. Now he came back and found his money cut for 40% in few month. I told him to use Bitcoin or Tether for this, but he was lazy to convert ETH to other assets.
What would you recommend him to do, convert this amount to Bitcoin and forget about ETH price recovering?
Because there is a sad speculations about continuing ETH downtrend up to 100$ per token.

If you are satisfied with you had and don't to take risk than Tether is good choice but if you want to continue than ETH have good chance to get recover it doesn't matter how much its lost but it is still 2nd most loved cryptocurrency and with strong support it will start recovering soon.

Apparently, the price of Ethereum falls only because of the fact that many ico projects are massively selling Ethereum, or they need cash for work or they just do not believe in the growth of this coin ! And since a lot of ico was held on the basis of Ethereum, you can imagine how much sales were recently. I think soon the price of Ethereum will go up .. too long lasts such a low price

Just my opinion: I don't think the price will go below $200 but I would definitely keep a stop-loss at my investment.

I know that all experts say that ethereum pumps are only because of the icos. While they have some part of the pumps, this is not the full picture. I would say that 20% is due to the icos. The remaining 80% are periodically provided by the minig whales. These guys with huge mining gpu farms know each other and they meet regularly. On each meeting they decide how much of their wealth they will spend in a certain short time interval to cause a significant pump. Typically they spend 10-20% of their usd reserves to cause 5-10x and more increase, so they can sell all ethers with a huge profit. Rinse and repeat in 6-10 months intervals. (1-6$, 6-12$, 12-20$, 6-450$, 300-1500$). Will there be one last pump? I don't know. I am a small home miner, so I will hold and wait to see if my last ethers will be sold higher than now. With the decision to lower the price from 3 to 2 ethers per block, many miners will leave for ever. The remaining will leave with the diff. bomb when switching to POS. Some more experienced miners told me that other coins switching to POS didn't do well at the market. No miners means no support levels and no firm bottom of the price.

Its centralized and that is what keeps people with brains from using it as a store of value. I would also prefer to convert all assets into something that earned the reputation of a stable rock-solid digital substitute for USD. In the countries with heavy banking regulations u cant cash out as much money as u need - something like decentralized clone of tether would be good to hedge against the possibility of fraud on banker's side.

ETH keeps on falling even if the price of bitcoin is now doing well it may go down further if BTC will take another dip, it may go beyond 200 USD time to buy more i guess and wait for it to hit the moon like BTC did last year.

You made good decision, now you just need to HODL eth for long term. Definitely ethereum will be rise above $500. Don't panic by this fall, just HODL tight.

What is happening to ethereum? It's use to be the fastest recovering coin during btc falls now it's falling faster than btc. Is it that people's confidence in ethereum is no longer there?
