Most miners will move to the new Ethereum POW. This coin has support from old Ethereum and Bitcoin devs. You will receive ethereum for every ethereum POS you own on the time of the fork (if you didn't lock them for staking)

After the Merge the blockchain will split in two giving you bonus coins (Ethereum POW).

You will only receive bonus coins if you own Ethereum at the point of the merge. (15% of the supply is locked in the staking pool and will be deleted in the new POW fork). Make sure that your wallet support ETH POW or move your coins to a wallet where you have access to the private keys.

They are betting their coins with security of exchanges and trust of exchanges. Because of money, they forget that they don't own Ethereum if they send it to exchanges. After sending it, they can get it back if exchange approve their withdrawal or can lose it if exchange turns off.

About fork, PoW Ethereum after the Merge, I don't care about it much. I think in next bull run, Ethereum Classic ETC will be big again and I wait for it to dump to $8 or $10 to get it. In a lomg bear market, I think I will get these discount prices.

Interesting update. The liquidity does still seem to be a bit low. But I'm sure that will change rapidly in the coming weeks... especially as bigger exchanges list it.

It is a fork that not yet has happened. (ETHW will fork around 15 september)

Ethereum POW and ETHW is the same thing.
The sourcecode has removed the difficulty bomb, removed POS code, removed some of the stablecoin adresses/ tornado cash adresses/ and hacked accounts. Implemented replay protection to make sure the new blockchain can co-exist with the original Ethereum.
The work is still in process, and more will be added.

If you have ethereum on any of the supported exchanges at the forking date, you will receive the same amount of ETHW(Eth POW) as ETH. Ethereum owners who have locked their funds in the staking pool will not receive coins in the new POW fork. This meens that the Ethereum POW will have 15-20% less coins than the original Ethereum.

34 eth is a very high figure, so I suppose that a majority of coins will be outside of staking;

for exemple metamask (who gives access to the private key), will allow to receive directly ETHW ?

In my opinion, in September we will see a continuation of the epic battle between ETH and BTC. The move to POS is a strong argument in the hands of green mining supporters. AtH ETH within a year or two is quite possible.

When ETH goes POS, the old investors will sell.
The old investors avoid exchanges, because they know how to work the private keys.

POW at least gave a chance to millions to get rich by investing in gpu rigs. On the other hand, POS is designed to make the inner circle of Vitalik extremely richer. This is the ultimate centralized project, which has nothing to do with the decentralised and widely adopted BTC. May be there will be some pump around the POS switch, but not if BTC continues to plunge. After that everyone will realize that this is just another buy the rumour sell the news pump and dump. Since staked eth are locked for 12 months and possibly more, there is no way these people to realize a profit, especially in a severe bear market like this. What is 4-5, even 10% yield, while the market is 80-90% down? There is a reason why every other POS coin is practically dead by now. The same will happen with eth, and I doubt it will survive this bear market. It is only a question of when, not if.

By support, you mean that they're staking Eth?
