I had always questioned how smart  contracts are literally executed. The actual individual systems on the market execute these, miners or even something else?

That's not only for ethereum assets and that's already applied to the majority of assets in the crypto, said SEC. We will know that for sure. But SEC is defining based on their compliance.

Didn't the CFTC guy say that even Bitcoin has elements of being a security? I don't think though that they will qualify it as such because they would get a lot of resistance from the whole industry, which by now is quite strong already.

I don't think there is something to be really worried seriously about upcoming meeting of SEC and CFTC to define the status of Ethereum on 7th of May. They have been very flexible so far and will not want to create problem for a parallel revenue generating industry. Let's hope for the best and after that a relaxed come back of these markets as whole.

I think they have an opposite opinion and they decide to make a meeting. There are a lot scam projects and it is normal that SEC and CFTC want it to regulate.
