Beware of all there is a mail scam that leads to a fake page of https://www.coindesk.com in which there is a link to an alleged contract of an Airdrop from Eos that will empty your ethers account and any token you have.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Hi, I am not familiar with at all with token transfers on the ETH platform, so if someone knowledgable could answer my questions, it would be greatly appreciated. A few hours ago I initiated a transfer from my Android Eidoo wallet to a trading account (an exchange). The Tx is showing in Etherscan. When refreshing the Etherscan Tx page, on the "Estimated Confirmation Duration" line, it has been showing different estimated times in minutes. It has shown 12, 9, 8, 4, 2 minutes. Then now it's back to 9 minutes.

In the wallet, when I submitted the transfer, I let the default setting at "Normal" for the "gas" speed. There are 3 "gas speed" settings in the wallet: Slow, Normal and High.

I have initiated the transfer over 14 hours ago, and it is still showing as "Pending" in the wallet and on the Etherscan page. The token transfer is : ZIL (ERC20 compatible)

The Etherscan Tx id can be seen here:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0x72adcbc73ab38f9fbb144a37337083777994fab54c3a6953f6a94dd881ca96ba

Why is it taking so long to get confirmed ?`

In the future, what "gas setting" can I use in the Wallet to speed up the transaction?

If I ever wish to have a transfer done, let's say within 30 minutes, what should I do ?

Also, can someone can give me a rough estimate on how long (in hours) it still going to take for this transaction to be processeed (confirmed) on the network? Thank you all for answering my questions.

Ethereum is still one of my favorite crypto projects. Vitalik put the blockchain on a whole new level. I have no doubt that Ethereum can be the number one crypto within the next two years.

Ethereum is my favorite mainly because the transaction speed is super fast. And happy to say we are again slowly entering $1000 (current price $959)

"Super fast" is a very relative term I would say. It's still by far not fast enough to serve the demand that'll be created through blockchain platforms very soon. But we'll get there eventually!  Cool

Finally we have something to hold faith on. I think ETH will keep building momentum throughout 2018. My projection is  2.5 k end of year.

By the way that the StateofDapps keeps building up, and with the upcoming updates for ETH, I also think that it will keep growing throughout 2018. I see it at 3000-4000 by the end of the year

Impossible to know where Ethereum will be at the end of the year as there are so many unpredictable things to be factored in. I am also positive though about the overall outlook.
Yes, Hard to speculate. Can be this consider may turn out to be true since it is currently the leading platform for smart contracts, dApps and ICOs. Still, its unconfirmed either it'll down this weekend or will continue into next week or bull move.

Now your prediction is bullet proof as you presented three different scenarios that might happen for Ethereum Wink

Don't look at so called analysts but use your own mind for decision taking on anything. Ethereum will be second most effective market after Bitcoin continuously and has no immediate danger from any market. Just see its usage level and projects depending solely on Ethereum before even thinking any project having few ICO's can replace it. It isn't going to happen in couple of  years at least.

There will be techniques to increase the TX/s but I don't expect them to leave testnet this year.

Analysts like to panic. The facts show that most projects are launched on the Etherium platform. Many platforms are already making their smart contracts, but these projects still need to catch up with the popularity of Etherium. Etherium, too, will not stand on the spot, there is a constant development of the platform.

How realistic is to expect that Plasma will be launch in 2018? With so many things on which ethereum devs are working on, I don't think plasma will be production ready this year. Anyone have some more info when we can expect it?

It's amazing concept and I am looking forward to see it Smiley

Yea, sure it will. If I understand it well, the goal is the enforceability of public network (Ethereum) that should allow private parties and private blockchains to interact in a trustworthy manner. So more institutions/companies will be attracted to join ethereum, today many of them don't want to use it because it's public chain.

Devs' passion and pursuit of purpose is so clear.  I am sure it is not easy, but this leap is going to happen this year.

And even if analysts panic you don't know whether they do it because they think the market will dive or whether they do it to buy cheaper.

your antivirus is working good because antivirus only gives warning and prevent phishing and harmful sites that could steel your data
i just bookmark myetherwallet and i only use that with my private key
meta mask also very good and protect you from phishing sites

Sorry if this has already been answered, but could someone please explain to me why the Ethereum Foundation didn't consider this a threat (at least according to this researcher)?
