I am hoping that with this Dencun upgrade will have its purpose play on the ecosystem to make all of the fees on ETH's blockchain to be lesser and cheaper soon. I've seen some progress a bit after its upgrade but that's not the kind of effect I am expecting, I like more of it to have it seen like it was cents long time ago and I don't know if it's possible to see that happen back then when everything was so cheap but then the demand has increased and made even the gas fees quite expensively.

If you keep aside the fact it is a centralised tracker, the aspects of smart contracts still make Ethereum stand out from other crypto. ETH provides a function that has launched thousands of ICOs (and later unfortunately unnecessary NFTs) therefore it remains in demand. If Bitcoin remains the gold standard for crypto, Ethereum has sustained a number two position for a long time.

In that process things will not always work the way people would expect therefore high gas fees is one of the issues they need to work on but let us not forget Bitcoin had a recent time where tx fees were excessive.

Dencun only affected the commission in L2 ecosystems.

How much of their statement is based on them being concerned about the actual case regarding ETH or ETF and more about the SEC trying to exert some form of control over the second biggest crypto by market cap?

"VanEck CEO, who has applied for Ethereum Spot ETF, made a surprising statement about the ETH ETFs that are expected to be approved.

Ethereum prices have rebounded on all platforms and are expected to rise further as the next presidential elections approach, especially since both parties have begun to support the trend towards achieving a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and integrating them as a productive market.

Nyota Interop Recap

Last week, Ethereum client, testing, and research teams from around the world gathered together for a week of intense work on the Pectra network upgrade, PeerDAS and the Verge.

Similarly to previous events like Edelweiss or Amphora, the focus of the Nyota interop was achieving multi-client interoperability across the different technical tracks.

In addition to this, Nyota was preceded with a first of its kind public event: Frontiers Africa, where core devs & researchers spent the day meeting & exchanging with builders from across the region.

In my recent post on the differences between layer 1 and layer 2 scaling, I ended up roughly coming to the conclusion that the most important differences between the two approaches are not technical but organizational (using the word in a similar sense to the field of "industrial organization"): it's not about what can get built, but what will get built, because of how the lines between different parts of the ecosystem are drawn and how that affects people's incentives and ability to act. In particular, a layer-2-centric ecosystem is inherently much more pluralistic, and more naturally leads to a greater diversity of different approaches to scaling, virtual machine design, and other technological features.

A key point I made in the previous post is:

Because Ethereum is a layer-2-centric ecosystem, you are free to go independently build a sub-ecosystem that is yours with your unique features, and is at the same time a part of a greater Ethereum."
