Yeah right, bitcoin manipulation can happen. It used to happen in Mtgox. It seems that now the manipulation of bitcoin is occurring, as a result US Begin to Investigate Bitcoin Price Manipulation Case, the US Department of Justice (US) opened a criminal investigation into the possibility of market participants manipulating the price of Bitcoin and other (cryptocurrency) currencies,

The investigation includes an examination of spoofing practices, in which an investor makes an order intended to manipulate the price of an instrument, and flood the market with fake orders.

possible because there are the presence of bigtime whales. It just sucks major cause they are actually contributing to the failure of bitcoin as currency. It all depends on fake orders, fake pumps and a lot of dumps, whales and cartels. This is not what we wanted. I hope that uS will take a good look into this.

Now that Bitcoin has gone 'mainstream' all the perils of the mainstream, like price fixing, market manipulation, etc are visiting upon us. It'll take some time to adjust to this new reality, so there's space for scamsters to make a fast buck preying on gullible folk.

As far as I know, the Chinese started to last year to investigate their local exchanges about manipulations and fake volumes and 0 transaction fees. So eventually it was the start of the Chinese crackdown on crypto and we all know what happens next.

But as far as Stateside, Yes, its the first time that we heard some investigations about price manipulation or any fraudulent acts so it really affected the price of bitcoin in the last couple of days. Manipulation is really possible specially whales who have a lot of coins at their disposal. They can ever have fake buying or selling orders and once traders saw some big orders, usually panic occurs pulling or even pushing the price.

Well it can happen. For those who owns a whole lot of bitcoin they can dump it all and results to bitcoin price going down. But mostly, fud is controlling bitcoin. Every news that comes out has an impact on the price. Most of the negative news affects price because people with weak hands sell out of panic. For the good news, itencojrages people to invest in bitcoin.

It is pretty possible and has happened many times in the past, even today is also happening but I don't understand how this investigation is legal because there is no strict regulatory framework like the one in the stock market.

This is possible if you have a lot of money. Also there's groups called pump and dump group these people could be a group of whales who can easily manipulate the price from each exchanges. These price manipulation doesn't last very long since the price quickly changes I don't think it's a huge problem to the point it that would destroy crypto.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has investigated the manipulation of harha, he reportedly has launched a criminal investigation to determine whether wholesalers manipulate prices of Bitcoin, Ether and possibly other cryptocurrencies. You're saying no because you haven't seen one. It already happened before you can look it up if you want to and there's no stopping them because everyone can't be stopped in having a certain amount of Bitcoin.

No one really knows who control bitcoin prices and I do not know how can other people manipulate it. Sometimes it is controlled by external factors such as international news pro and against bitcoin and also internal such as the number of people buying and selling it. I am nit sure if price manipulation has happened before but I think its normal and if this is a criminal act, i just hope it would stop

Yep, but only a huge group of people only can do that. So may we somehow follow their footsteps in order for us to get a hint for what will happen next.

price manipulation does exist.
in the trading of bitcoin and altcoin those with the greatest coin are the rulers who can control such a price.please order as they please.
they can choose a large purchase or sale order that can attract and panic to other traders.

That is true, but market control is more indicative of the amount of selling power or purchasing power, in addition to the cause of the decline in Bitcoin prices due to the increasing number of altcoin tokens that dominate the market and also to the buyer or token store on a considerable scale.

It is a very known and a simple matter now. Most of the crypto member knows that Every significant exchange has some big whales. And those whales make the bitcoin and other altcoin price manipulation. If I am not wrong then, I, can say those whales bought lots of bitcoin when bitcoin price was too cheap, and now they are creating some fake PUMP and DUmpm, and then they took people's money, People who haven't enough experience or knowledge about the trade and they don't know how the crypto market works.  So, whales can easily manipulate them.

Binance has some big whales, that's why binance is a very known as a heaven for Whales. Overall, My knowledge tells me that Price manipulation is not good when it is distressful.

Manipulation is happening all the time and in the case of crypto currencies it is even more huge and aggressive than fiat price manipulation. If fiat price depends on situation inside of the country and its place in the world, in crypto community whales, who have big number of coins, fast affect the price by simple sell/buy.

price manipulation is common, and this is often done by those who have a lot of money and have data from bitcoin buyers by desperately placing lots of holder to sell their tokens and then buy as much bitcoin to reap huge profits when prices rise drastically
and this is a fact for old players in bitcoin
