I read that they are investigating criminal price manipulations over Bitcoin. Manipulation of prices is really possible ? This happened before ?

I am new to cryptocurrencies and I did not have any idea or proof that this had happened before. But given that there is such an investigation maybe it did have some bases to do it. If it happened today may be the probability is high for it to have happened before but was not just made public like what happened today.

sad but true...i believe some big people holding a huge amounts can really do that,they can play the market they can manipulate the prices and the news also have a huge contribution with their fuds and fake news.so if the value was down they can easily buy more and ofcourse they also can pump it.easy money for them

Yes it does happen and millionaires jumping in can make a good shake with the price specially with cheaper tokens.
Who can stop that? None. The problem will be low amount holders which will panic and decide to just sell it even with a loss. That is a shame for those tokens that have a real good project. They will lose everything just because of whales playing with the price.

They must really get in touch with them to at least make them see that a long term holding will be more profitable instead of just selling with little profits in their pocket.

Exactly, It's too hard to manipulate bitcoin because it have a large community and with a high potential, If anyone want to manipulate the price of btc, he should have thousands of btc to do that, and it's hard to find someone with this large amount of btc these days, I think big companies can do that, I talk about very rich companies not a small one.

I personally believe there can be manipulation how do you explain heavy price swing? even when there want to be downward trend it should be gradual to some extent and not heavy downward trend and almost instant upward trend. Big whales at work, coalition of high yield network folks.

Yes there are heavy manipulations in the bitcoin price. They are carried out by BIG whales who have thousands of Bitcoins. They can easily bring the price down by selling their bitcoins or even increase it by putting the big buying orders.

We cant lift any possibilities of having that event inside.  It happens already outside crypto and it is already practice in here for many years since from the start. Whales have such power to manipulate others but can't control totally the entire market since we are in decentralized market.  Once government will regulate crypto,  that's the time we become a centralized market.

possible because there are the presence of bigtime whales. It just sucks major cause they are actually contributing to the failure of bitcoin as currency. It all depends on fake orders, fake pumps and a lot of dumps, whales and cartels. This is not what we wanted. I hope that uS will take a good look into this.

Yes. Those rich people are the ones who try to manipulate the Bitcoin price. Since Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are unregulated, they take advantage of it. This is happening now. I hope the government can do something about it without making crypto market centralized.

I think there is price manipulation, that there are really big people behind these price manipulation, that is why there is always changes in the market and is not just only because of the demand but also who manage to operate the movement of it all.
