I disabled it after my work with loading full bars, as it wasn't immediately clear how it would work.

I will re-enable soon.

It looked like this was going to be my favorite market info site, but for the past couple of days it's stopped working:

The console remains like this:

07:07:39 > Got 2306 asks and 4131 bids.
07:07:38 > Loading full depth of market table.
07:07:34 > Opening connection to https://socketio.mtgox.com/mtgox

The order book displays but then remains static as does the chart; Time & Sales remains empty.

I tried removing all of the clarkmoody.com cookies but that didn't help.

Safari 5.0.5, Mac OS 10.6.7

Edit:  same thing on my iPad, whether in WiFi (on same LAN as my Mac) or 3G (AT&T cellular data)

You are experiencing problems with the MtGox streaming service, which suffers from severe reliability issues. Unfortunately for sites like mine, displaying live market information requires reliance on a third party.

Don't give up though. Sometimes I've experienced days on end of uninterrupted service.

Hmm. It looks like we've gotten a recent surge in traffic, and the site is not loading properly every time.

Recently, we were added to the front page of bitcoinbullbear.com with a live chart. That's what pushed us up over the top.

Bandwidth usage for the last few days has been high:

DateBandwidth [GB]
1-Jan-201214.127
2-Jan-201223.747
3-Jan-201221.248
4-Jan-201222.605

I may try to switch servers today and see what happens...

I think with the mtgox feed issues users are left to refresh every couple of seconds to get good data and might be adding to the traffic usage as well.

Definitely!

I am also automatically polling the order book when the feed stops -- not too often, though. But that adds significant bandwidth usage.

Yeah, I am trying the Google Ads thing to get a baseline for potentially selling sponsored ads to Bitcoin businesses, but maybe it was a bad idea...

Clark,

for me the ads work perfectly fine. They are all financial ads (Gold, Silver, etc.)

Please fix the code.

Large orders do not appear upon loading.

Some large orders appear when an order is placed after the page is loaded.

Older large orders never appear.

Large orders do not appear upon loading.

Right you are.

For all you developers out there, here is the lesson: some php implementations are 32-bit and upon attempting to parse an integer larger than that, they return (pow(2,31)-1), since they are signed integers.

Thus, you might have noticed that the maximum order on the book was 21.47483647 before others came across the socket. This is equivalent to (pow(2,31)-1) / 1e8.

Fortunately, this code fix was server-side, so the client code still functions properly.

I don't get it. If it worked before, they keep fixing it until it breaks? Huh  Cheesy
