You can use ledger I use it, also you can store them in myetherwallet generally they are enough. And ethereum is good project for lon gterm like 3-5 years, most of the altcoins won't be in market 2-3 years later.

For me it is not, of course it will become the best altcoin if they make development in their Blockchain or technology.
