This is for those who use wallets with cheap transaction fee, such as ethereum based wallets.
There are some who cannot yet afford to purchase a hardware wallet. On that note, i have a suggestion on how your wallet can be safe from hackers. I have always noticed wallets that get easily hacked are those that are subject to public view.
Try as much as possible to have a separate cold wallet address that you do not copy and paste the private key, and neither do you share the address with anyone. You can use it to store most of your valuable coins.
Even if you want to transfer any coin or token to an address belonging to another person, first transfer it to your public wallet before sending it out.

It depends on what type of wallet you are going to use. You should choose right wallet from hacking. There are a few types of wallets:
Online Wallets, Mobile Wallets, Desktop Wallets, Hardware Wallets, Paper Wallets

There is lot of different opinion from everyone, But I am using Coinbase wallet. Coinbase is a largest Bitcoin broker cum wallet, it is best place to store bitcoins in online. As of now they are support to exchange  Bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, lite coin. And also we can exchange cash by using coin base in 30+ countries. they are looking forward to add XRP.

The best thing you can do, that I do is simply keep connected to a computer that you only connect to the internet when you're going to send money. Of course it's also important that you've never done anything else with that computer.

I use several wallets, but I store my main funds on a hardware wallet. I do not keep large amounts on exchanges either. the main thing is to safely store passwords

Be careful with phishing sites. Using a hardware wallet like trezor or Nano S is much more secure than a software wallet. Always use a strong password that should not be used everywhere.

Very good advice, thank you very much! Always worry about the safety and security of their funds, because every year more and more scams.

I use several wallets. I save the basic funds on the hardware wallet. Avoid phishing sites and everything that promises more profit, because it can be sure that something that promises better then it is a big lie. I plan to buy a separate laptop for offline transactions.

you have to keep your private key safe and moreover identify the webpage where ever you enter your private key because nowadays a new attack is there called phishing attack.

Always make sure you keep your private key and back it up with a hard copy using paper and pen and keep it safe where you can keep it. Be sure also to have your password strong so it cannot be easily open when someone tries it.

To protect my wallet from any hacking activity, is to secure my passwords or keys in USB drives or write on paper and keep them in your locker till i don't want to do any transaction. And also i am always use only INCOGNITO window because here no one track me and after completion of work the search history is automatically erased. Second thing is Hardware wallet which is only operated by its owner and transactions are processed after clicking a button. And if we do this than, hackers have no chance for hacking.

I think if you have real high amount of cryptocurrencies and you are afraid of hackers, you should maybe follow the simple rules. First of all, secure your computer. So yeah there are a lot of people who say thats not gonna help. Of course a skilled hacker can bypass your security software, buts its still a better ground. The other thing is, do not login everyday or nothing in your wallet. Do not save your privatekeys and password in txt files or anyone else on your harddisk. And the most important one: Do no speak in telegram chats or message boards how much you own!

personally, I think, I do not know if there is a way that can protect your wallet perfectly. The first thing to do is pick a key or password that is strong enough and do not share your details with anyone. This is the base to protect your wallet.
