Add "Kimoto Gravity Well algorythm" for recalculate diff after each block and blocktime will adjust automatically
to the designed blocktargetime and everything will be good.
We tortured this code on the testnet and it works well.  So far, it's performing in the real world.  If you don't mind, we'll let this new code work for at least 24 hours... Wink

I wonder a bit.. is a diff adjustment within a running block possible?
The next block after a pump is always a real troubleing one.

p.s. we are still on block 21422. so we are on that block right now

I noted yesterday that the 36SMA12LMT would drop diff below 1 on the first cycle. It's clearly underdamped, but as long as we don't see any 100x step inputs it should stabilize eventually. At least we will be getting 240 blocks per day instead of varying from 5 to 500 per day, so that part is much improved.

you will have to wait at least another 36 blocks to see the real effects of the 36SMA12LMT leveling.
So far all it has in its storage is 36 very quick mined blocks of the pump move. The slow blocks started with 21422.
It will leveling eventually.

However I am clearly no fan of this algo or method like I already wrote in the old thread since you will always pay a bit too long too much difficult when the pump moves out. But I am eager to see how it looks on real conditions. A pity I will not have more than 1 or 2 hours  left before I go off to bed.

If one wants to continue noteing the values down feel free.. Smiley

If you dont know how ( LPC did it already and VTC is on the way to that ) buy the know how from these DEV´s.
Your coins will give you back multiple times worth of such investment

Same problem as TIPs

DO IT

Yes I've said this a couple of times, on a next version (maybe adding some functionalities the wallet aswell, lets not rush thing tho, but at the same time let's not forget that developpement should not stop and we should not wait till the coin is in a bad shape, because between the concensus/developement/testing/informing/deploying is a long cycle. For now what worries is the 36 block average value as it is an average it effect won't show in short terms but in the long term, in short term it works out correctly, if profitability pools only hit when profitability is high, which is not the case right now, dispite the coin being far from profitable at this instance it's still being hammered with a huge hash rate

As I said, the fork was less than 12 hours ago.  We all knew the diff would drop to match the network hashrate - it had to and it's supposed to!  So far everything is operating as expected - and it's a very good thing!

The system (catcoin, miners, markets) will need time to settle before anyone can find meaningful info to analyze.  I look forward to your opinion in about a month's time.  Until then:

Please note that the captain has not yet turned off the seat belt sign - please remain in your seats until we are past this turbulent air.  Thank you for flying Air Cat! Cheesy

NEW POOL SERVING UP CATCOINS!
http://www.geekhash.org
(GeekHash) is a multi-coin pool, currently offering the following coin to be mined:
Bitcoin, Catcoin, and Unobtanium

Features:
Stratum only servers
New type of payout method not found anywhere else: Target Proportional
Block history breakdown per block found.
If you have a Second Life Avatar, you can also mine for Second Life Linden (SLL)!
Web IRC chat links (If you have your own IRC client, Freenode server, #geekhash channel)

Payout Method:
Target Proportional (TProp)

What is Target Proportoinal (TProp):
TProp is the sum of the target value of shares that you have returned to the server, and that is summed with all other miners of that coin, to give you your percent of the block (before fees).
For example, in cgminer, you would see something similar to:

[2014-01-30 23:26:41] Accepted 1b06dfb4 Diff 9/8 BAJ 0 pool 0
[2014-01-30 23:26:45] Accepted 0dcfd828 Diff 18/8 AMU 8 pool 0
[2014-01-30 23:26:48] Accepted 0a41b2a1 Diff 24/8 BAJ 0 pool 0
[2014-01-30 23:26:48] Accepted 16574e20 Diff 11/8 BAJ 0 pool 0

Your number of shares submitted would be 4 (Old way of counting shares before vardiff came about with stratum)
Your vardiff value of shares submitted would be 32 ( 4 * 8 ) (most other pools use this number)
Your TProp value of shares submitted would be 62. ( 9 + 18 + 24 + 11 ) This is the number that gets summed to your TProp total.

And for ease of numbers, say the whole pool found a block and the total TProp shares summed to 100, your percent of the block would be 62% (62 / 100 = 0.62) before fees.

Fees:
SLL 2%
BTC 2%
UNO 0%
CAT 0% Until the end of February! =^.^=

It's a side effect of the new algo. Relax it's coming back down, it should be much more gradual this time .

look at coinwarz.com.. this coin will not survive. it needs to defeat big pools.

look at that list. its sad. they suck a coin dry until it barely becomes a $15/day proffit for a 1mh/s miner.

is this difficulty going to stop this?

you need one block retarget. so if they jump in then the next block it would be pointless for them to stay.
