I would recommend not mining catcoin at all until the issue is addressed.  The way the client is right now, if you are on the right chain, and if you successfully mine a block, you have about a 15% chance of having that block accepted by the network.

On the other hand, you have an 85% chance of having that block rejected.  In that case, your client will be disconnected from the network and you will be stuck on a fork until you (or the pool operator) re-downloads the block chain from scratch.

if you mine in right block on p2pool do not make sense what you say.... your coins will go directly to your wallet when you sync it again. and this do not matter when you make the sync now or one year later.

But how do you know who's at the right block? Even the block explorer is at the wrong block for weeks or so?

if dev node are on block 22017 and block explorer is on same block, then simple this is the right one... for me is simple.

It has been said time and time again ... block explorer is on the wrong fork!

No.  The current block is 22895, according to what we are talking about in the dev channel.

I'm officially stopping all public mining of Catcoin on GeekHash, until we have resolved the forking issues.  It is a "mine at your own risk", just in case it has been determined that it is on the wrong fork, which I feel that is not on the wrong fork, but just a precaution.

Also check http://catstat.info (which just redirects to a stats page on cat.geekhash.org)

We think we have solution(s) to un-fork this forking mess, and if you want to help out join #catcoin-dev and try compiling the catbox https://bitbucket.org/dahozer/catcoin

An official version will be forthcoming at https://github.com/CatcoinOfficial/CatcoinRelease once we have officially cleared it with the department of redundancy clearing department, and someone besides me thinks it might actually work.

check http://catstat.info or ask on IRC https://webchat.freenode.net/

As of Sat Feb 15 06:14:04 UTC 2014 we are at block 22992

If this works overnight then we should be mostly back on track.

It doesn't help if the 'official' nodes aren't on the same chain...
Geekhash seems to be at 22992 while the other ones are all at 22883, which my wallet also sits at right now.
This really is a mess.

Actually it does help because the official nodes are working with the de-forking nodes to get us back on track.  We said we're getting it back together, but unlike a former president we will not announce 'mission accomplished' until it actually is. Wink
