In a newsletter from June, Mandica ( Lead Developer ) explains how best to think about the project:

“The best way to understand Spectre today is to think of bitcoin + Proof-of-Stake.v3 + anonymous transactions (using similar technology to monero) + Tor to hide your IP.”

Spectre has already built Tor into its systems and even went further, implementing Tor product, “OBSF4,” which allows users to skirt national firewalls, such as those in China and Iran.

The team itself functions anonymously too. In fact, a spokesperson for the Spectra team told CoinDesk that the developers themselves don’t even know each other’s real names. [UPDATE:  I guess this will change soon?]

Xspec uses ring signatures as their privacy protocol. Currently they are developing the new version which will change all addresses to stealth by default. Next things coming up is stealth staking, which is a very unique feature.

Thanks for sharing, it's nice to be reminded that this project still exists. It's one of the few microcap coins that I know the dev team will stick with, because they believe in the tech they are developing, and don't seem overly concerned with the price. More projects should take note of this ethos, it's what's separating shitcoins from developing coins at the moment.

Great work team, I've heard good things about this DEX, and generally it's good to see the team focus on DEX listings - this will become increasingly popular for privacy coins in the future in my opinion. Are there plans for more DEX listings in the future? Will XSPEC be integrated with ResistanceDEX for example? Keep up the good work either way!
