I do not think there is definitely a connection between the World Cup and the bitcoin. This will not be a reflection on the market.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

In three days, the 2018 World Cup will be kicked off. This is exciting. This means that there will be a large portion of people who make money on gambling. This is a fortunate World Cup. Because they have cryptocurrencies, I think that BTC will increase the trading volume during some of the World Cup because of the amount of gambling, so the price will be raised. I hope so. ! Welcome to discuss!

Under normal conditions the prices of Bitcoin and altcoin are suppose to rise during the world cup festival in Russia because there are going to be more activities that will make use of cryptocurrency.  No doubt gambling and betting activities are going to skyrocket very soon during the world.
Actually there is relation betwen world cup and bitcoin. What do you said to be used cryptocurrency? Nothing.
Most of the people go to Russia not bring their cryptocurrency but brimg credit card. So no relation betwen those 2 things.
