Hey guys, what do you think of Iceland jailing its bankers?

Should the people of Iceland share the punishment for taking out loans that they couldn't afford to pay back?

www.aurorapr.co.vu

I remember when Iceland was the country that 'stood up to the bankers'. Now I have some Auroracoin, all I can think is, hey fuck that place  Angry

They had nothing to do with it, that was the whole problem right from the start.  They had no input and were deliberately excluded.  Still one of the most beautiful places on earth, nothing can change that.

Facts:
1. auroracoin.org domain has expired and in social media we don't have any info what next
2. last stage airdop is not realized - premine adresses still have auroracoins
3. www.aurorapr.co.vu is not official auroracoin website, we don't have any info from official social media about this situation.

If auroracoin die now, thats be very sad, because I believie in this idea and I start create software solutions for aurioracoin, but I waiting for last stage airdrop.

Anyway, shit sometimes happend. I still waiting what next with last stage airdrop and website www.auroracoin.org

There is a group of people working on taking over the Auroracoin project. We have not announced it officially as we have been organising and doing some ground work like working on an isk-aur exchange in Iceland, updating the core code and many other projects that will make a strong foundation for the future development of the coin. We have set up a forum since the official one was taken down and since the website has been taken down we are working on securing a domain and setting up a new page. You are welcome to check out our new forum and ask all the questions you have there. Our new forum is hosted on http://auroraspjall.is

Without last stage airdrop will not be any community because anyone seriously developer and commerce project can't be involved in auroracoin.

I personally think that the last stage is not that important. The claims have been very few and a lot of them have been the same people buying up the claims from others cheap and selling on Cryptsy. What I do think is important now is for Baldur to do one of the following.
  • Renew the domain
  • Hand over the domain to the group
  • Give the group a link to the claim site that we can use from a new website we are making
  • burn the rest of the premine.

All the members from our group have sent Baldur a request for this and we are now waiting for a response or action. I have never doubt Baldur to burn the rest of the premine but it seems that it might have to happen sooner than planed but we will see.

That would not be splitting up the community. This is what Baldur wanted all along and that is what we are doing. There is nobody that is against us in this in the sense they are working in another direction.

I agree with these points. However the first two are far less important then the last 2.

The premine needs to be destroyed... on schedule or earlier.

      I agree with Molecular

      • get the auroracoin.org up and running and continue with the distribution.
      • the project has to end with a provable burning of the rest of the premine.

Yes I completely agree. The premine being destroyed is the single most important thing that needs to happen.[/list]

How the f..k is the airdrop still in progress?

Was the airdrop done directly from auroracoin.org? Is the server still up? What was its IP-Address? Does it have an alternative name?

        Was wondering the same.

Done all the digging I could and it all ends at Cloudflare and cloud flare doesn't allow direct IP access. I assume it's still up and running but I don't know if it has another access to it. Like from an alternate domain.

Is there any chance that these claims have been on hold in a queue? I remember when I claimed my coins, I got a message that the transaction will go into a queue and they were not delivered right away?

I was backtracking the distribution address that are in the blockexplorer you linked. They are all marked as "Not yet redeemed". What does "Not yet redeemed" mean? This is common to all the transactions that is paying out 636 since 17th of december.

If you stuff a "Host: www.auroracoin.org" directive into a HTTP request to the IP 104.28.4.68 you get back the auroracoin site. I'm not sure whether this means the web server is still active, or it's just cloudflare caching it.

Looks like auroracoin.org is registered under eNom, or one of its resellers. Does anyone know if it's possible to renew a domain via them, without needing to be logged in as the original registrant? (ie - ANYONE can renew the domain). Did a quick web search but couldn't find anything.

        edit: the reseller is namecheap.

edit 2: Speaking in namecheap live chat, they can contact the registrant, and there's no objections within 24 hours they will allow a third party to renew the domain. They've also recommended to renew with WhoisGuard, otherwise the original registrant's details will be revealed, but the catch is that also may trigger ICANN contact validation, which could result in suspension of the domain 15 days later. So better to pay the extra $2.88 to continue WhoisGuard and avoid ICANN validation.

So... does anyone have a namecheap account? It will cost $14.36 to renew the domain and WhoisGuard.
