I think not all, people who make a market dump don't get that loss. but that is the cruelty of the world of commerce, most people who are late in selling will lose because of that, and I have also been a person who was late in selling it. |

You can be out of market so you won't lose anything. Besides, if you trade on such platforms as Bitfinex or Bitmex, you are able to buy short contracts so you can even earn on bearish cycles.

I disagree with the notion that everyone lose money when bitcoin is down because Cryptocoins market is a two edged sword and it depends on the face you are and that determines if you will make profits or not. The market is full of opportunity and your knowledge is which position you are.

Not on a mild downtrend and not if you could know it is a mild one and avoid selling. Most people typically lose money when they panic and sell their holding in a mild downtrend. It is usually better to accumulate more but the problem still remains how you know it is mild downtrend

Actually, if we are still holding our assets without selling them, we will not lose asset value. I was holding back until now. I am stuck after 1 year of bitcoin down to $ 3500. All we need is patience.

20000$ to 3500$ is a huge loss but I agree for crypto if we can hold with patience then we will get our profit. Trading is always patience and we have to make trade or hold item by keeping that in mind otherwise we have to stay away from trading or investing on crypto market. |

Actually there is people who make alot of money by shorting Bitcoin  You can even short with x50 / x100 leverage and make loads of money if btc drops by 100-200 USD . But leverage is really risky , you short and btc goes up 100$ then you lose all your balance probably |

Not everyone. Short-sellers will make profits if the markets go down, right? And probably that's the reason why we have so many bears among us in the crypto-currency market. Personally I have never tried short-selling or any type of margin trade. It is for those guys who have a great deal of experience and knowledge about crypto.

You are not right on your point. At the same time there are many people who can make profit. As you know at the same time profit and loss happen. Some people make loss and some people make profit. It cant go only by losing or only by winning. |

yes, if only the ico releases their token in the exact direct value without the influence of the market pull. just like XYO and some others. but i dont think traders can make gain if the value is consistently down.
the best i will always suggest is hodling in that condition, until the value rises favourably. if not losses is inevitable.
