So, to summarize:

A brand new exchange (Mintpay) that is closely tied to a brand new coin (Karma), as evidenced by this thread, has lost 40 BTC.

...

Yes. And it may take some time before the site gets back up. They're expecting a lot of withdrawals after site is up. Sad
I had 100k Karma in there. Sad

Relax, your Karm are just fine. They will be there when the site comes back up the rest of the way.

I too pooped bricks at first, because I have 1.1 million of em sitting there...

The whole situation seems a bit...curious to me.

Hopefully it (sort of) works out.

Kimoto Gravity Well (Anti Multi-miner) Update

GREAT NEWS: WE'RE #1 PROFITABLE AGAIN

NOT SO GREAT NEWS: MULTI-MINERS WILL START MINING US

We have the update for Kimoto almost ready (which will fix the problem of the diff staying high after a multiminer leaves).

Once the current multi-miner leaves we will release the wallet.  At that point we all have to update within 12-18 hours (more or less- we'll let you know).

More information coming...

That's right. I'm holding mah coins. 7 santoshis is a joke for this. It might go down some more since it is so profitable now. But as time progresses more people seem to be adapting to this coin. Still relatively cheap to mine and buy.

Everyday that passes the amount of the mining gets harder and prices stay stable. Let's see what the future brings

Another update regarding the new version of the wallets:

We are watching the difficulty and the network hash rate closely.  The balance we are doing is the following

1) Maximize the amount of time everyone will have to install the new wallets
2) Guess when the next multi-miner will hit and what its impact on the diff will be
2) The new wallets will have code in them that basically 'turns on' at a certain block number.  In order to release the wallets we have to guess that block number based on the current difficulty and what we think will happen

The goal of all of these things is to maximize the value of the currently mined coin and to minimize the impact on the market and the miners.  The more everyone is aware that the wallets will be updating, the better.

So we'll continue to update the community as we come closer to the release.
