I am glad if people sell KARM this low... Smiley

People who will buy what others sell have more knowledge on the crypto markets, and they will keep the coins until it gets 20 satoshi+.
All the other talking about coingen, and copy coin, and etc. are just bla-bla-bla... Trying to emphasize something we all know: ALL altcoins are made by copying the litecoin source, and that is a well known fact. Taking the source from github, or using coingen makes ABSOLUTELY NO difference.... what's important is that ALL THESE copycoins (almost) have made a huge success (Doge is around 150 satoshi, LOT, LEAF, etc. they all went up as high as 40 and they are around 20 satoshi ever since).

RE: Mintpal

<@MintPal-Jason> McAltcoin Thanks. We're aware of the issue & have decided to take the relative quiet period in the market as a maintenance period. There's a few fixes that we want to push out that simply can't be done with the site live. Apologies for the short notice.

And this is really scary. How can dev explain this?

the dev uploaded that to show that there are differences bet. their code and coingen. i did not check that as i don't really care how the coin was made. if it's in the market and doing great, what's not to like?

if others say that text file show they are the same, it's better they point out what lines exactly to make their case, otherwise, it's nothing but bashing.

correct me if im wrong but diff will output any differences. so not exactly sure how they say it's the same.  give some concrete examples from that text file to prove they are the same. Tongue
cool, but why didn't he announce it? or did I missed it?

im afraid your in denial, read the text

-
+the Karmacoin client software, see http://www.coingen.io.

I registered just to show you this:

Left side is from coingen.io source and right side is from karmacoin github source compared with winmerge. Last modified 3 days ago, so dev hasn't made any changes to try and hide what you claim, this is of the same line your saying proves it's coingen:

Yes, it's here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=447657.msg4988833#msg4988833
It is a comparison to show the differences from a few pages back on this thread.

Now will everyone please stop banging on about Coingen. I don't care whether the code is from Coingen or Toys 'R' Us.
The market is full of coins that are clones of other coins, code borrowed and tweaked. What makes a difference is having an active dev that makes the coin unique.

Karma has an active dev who knows what he's doing. The coin is unique, and has new features coming.

Can someone help me clarify the block rewards:
Is it 10,000 coins + 2million coins PER block up to the 10,000th block?`

If so, at block #6651 (as of now) we are at a market cap of approx. 935 BTC or$682,550 (1BTC=$730).

0.00000007*[(6651*10000)+(6661*2000000)] = 935.7957

Are my calculations correct?

Karmacoin is a good idea.
From what I have read, the Dev is simply letting the miners mine and participate in a fair market.
This coin is finally giving the average guy and his rigs a shot at participating in a market which is principally unprecedented with the exception of DOGE.
These guys appear to be protecting us - which is fundamental to doing good to each other - trustworthiness.

Here is my impression of things.
1) These new coins go through ups and downs.
2) The Dev has shown good Karma by actions.
3) First, they appear to have a lot of pride in their work - defending it at every chance.  I believe them when they say that they coded the software themselves. Arguing their point appears to be a matter of pride and is irrelevant to the Karmacoin's success.  I believe they were not trying to make a case study of it - but are defending against the naïve who are pawns for the trolls.
Quote
I invite you to download the code from coingen's karmacoin (the screenshot you've shown a dozen times on the forum) and compare it to the real Karmacoin code located at github.  You will find thousands of differences.  In fact, to make it easier for you to see the differences I ran a unified diff for you.  You can do this yourself with the diff -ru [folder1] [folder2] command.

The diff file is available here: http://karmacoin.info/diff_karmacoin.txt (it is 20,000+ lines)

We are making a community here to promote being good, to provide a place to give props to people who have done good.

I am not going to spend time responding to this again.

Please stop
4) They thwarted a pre-mine scenario by recompiling and redistributing their wallets within the hours of going live.
Quote
FROM DEV: Thanks.  I'd appreciate that, we've put a lot of work into this coin and have a last minute scramble now to re-do the keys.
The plan was to open the pool up, give out the wallet information, etc at the same time to everyone to be fair.  This person is solo mining.  They aren't using the pool (it shows 0KH).  The coins the are mining right now will be useless as the new wallets won't recognize their hashes and all will be reset.

5) They are making investment:
Quote
Kimoto Gravity Well update coming Feb 7 or Feb 8 depending on how testing goes
Quote
Major events completing over the next several weeks (give or take based on Karma volunteers)
1) Updates to the www.karmacoin.info site to make it a hub of communication for the community including forums, blogs, etc
2) Media 'road show' to let the news outlets know what Karmacoin is all about
3) Adding the Karma showcase to the www.karmacoin.info site which allows people to showcase good things they have done and ask for donations
4) A storefront to buy Karma-related products using your KARM

You need to analyze who is saying what.  Most of the guys bashing, complaining are focused on driving the pricing of KARM down
For example, Zebedee23 is clearly a capitalist.  You cannot blame him.  He needs to scare you to move the pricing and manipulate the market.
How do I know? His posts communicate a pumping and dumping strategy across 3 or 4 currencies over the last 24 hours.
Is that bad?  Hell no, he needs to make a living.
But is he the guy to take advice from?  No.  He is not looking to sponsor or support - just get rich off of your reactions to what he says.
(Nothing bad meant by this Zebedee23)

it is new exchange and it have some problems. Sometime you can find problem only under load. I do not believe they make really nice and working exchange and then fly with 50 bitcoins after 2 days. Good exchange is more profitable long term. I hope I will have lifetime zero fees in their exchange for this speech  Grin
