dont check it man. this community really needs to come up with something this weekend. i still think the charity pool mining and/or foundation is a great idea. just because the coins are nearly worthless right now doesnt mean that it wouldnt be worthwhile. it would actually be better for people to contribute right now since the price is so cheap. do we have any one who speaks chinese in this community? maybe they can spread the word in china....

MEOW is already on CRYPTSY. This coin has had enough visibility, and has been pumped and dumped to death. Time to move on to a new coin, time to let go!

You've sort of hit the nail on the head there. ALL of the Altcoins are down at the moment due to repercussions from the MtGox collapse. This isn't a specific Kitteh thing. There's a lot of investors that have been spooked and are now moving from Altcoins --> Bitcoin --> Fiat. This is causing a lot of dumping as people rush to get out of Cryptos.

Stop focusing on price for the moment; Bitcoin and, by association, Altcoins will recover it's just going to take a while. There's too much big money invested in Bitcoin mining hardware and GPUs for Bitcoin to become completely worthless.

So take a deep breath, buy up the coins while they're cheap and lets see if we can build a stronger community around the coin.

Suggestions include using the Kitteh Tipbot on Reddit and what's a Memecoin like Kitteh without Funny Cat Photo's? It's been 7 pages since the last Meme picture! Half the reason Dogecoin is popular is their community and the sheer number of meme pictures they produce. Funny Cat photos practically started the 'Meme' genre, so why aren't we exploiting that more?

I don't know how many will agree with me, but I'd like to request a 'cuter' Maneki Neko logo for the coin to support this

you can't complain
many people bought in at 1-4 satoshi, or mined shitload
so they cash out and cash out.. .
some cash out with a loss

most miners went to the next coin

i'm still with 1 GPU on meow and it feels like a charity mission (yes every GPU counts in virtual value?)
very difficult to mine.. not so profitable.
seems like something sometimes still mines meow with a crazy hashrate and leaves when diff. is up
KGW could probably work better with more miners

If I could I gladly would mine, but I only have a laptop, I tried to upgrade my old pc, and tried mining on that, but nothing I do, can get me to mine. All my investments in meow as been in cash, which now seems to be falling at a fast rate, bought at 60, and I am going broke. Embarrassed

i really do not understand how the price is falling at such a rapid rate. either people are legitimately scared or this market is being manipulated much more than i could ever have imagined.

the big issues with this coin atm are:

-lack of community support/marketing
-lack of mining support
-multi pool attacks
-dano being sick this week

hopefully he can come back and we can all right this ship.

Agree
Dano is doing a hell of a job. Lead Dev, Coder, spokesperson, marketing, social media etc... Besides that he has a private life, wife, kids, dont know. Its a miracle he's able to pull all this. When he's out its very quiet as we have seen. I hope he gets well soon and continue to put together the marketing team. Also asign some others (marketing team?) to take care of social media (Twitter, Facebook, Blogs)

Most coins are doing very poorly really. EAC went from 300 Satoshis two weeks ago to the 40-50s now. Things will turn around in time. We just have to roll with the punches.

the thing is, a lot of high volume Trader invest by the end of the last year in hardware and starts with mining, now they prefer mining as buying..therefore the is no new money on the markets....the second handicap was the mtgox trouble...and last but not liest the amazing plenty of altcoins starts in 2014.... sometimes i am so confused which altcoin i have to mine or not.... crazy market...everybody wants a piece from the cake....the altcoin market is right now not manageable... too many trash coins, too many people who wants to earn money on a easy way...the altcoinmarket must have to consolation....in all honesty every altcoin is only so long valuable til someone pays for it... we all trading with nothing for breed our btc balance and talk about which altcoin is better or not...everyone is the same! most of them (more than 50%) disappear in the next few months....the thing is now to find the right color or right number like in the Casino.... we all gambling....

According to Dano's twitter, some big changes are coming this week for Kittehcoin. I for one have utmost faith in Kitteh. Dano's an amazing dev and you can tell he's passionate about Kitteh's longterm success. I definitely expect a huge rebound is in the making, especially once all this Mt Crox crap fades away. I will continue to hodl and buy up these cheap Kittehs as much as possible. Just gotta think positive. Just imagine the explosion if the Asian market grabs a hold of this baby. Maneki Neko? Genius!

+1. The current rate is not so important. What's important is support, development, promotion, an alive and growing coin. Efforts of all of us who support it.

There are many altcoins, and many are hyped, have a short life and die. Of the 2-3-400? current altcoins in existence, how many will be in active use in 3 months? In 6 months? In 1 year? I don't think a lot. And sure, new ones will come around which are hyped and will die even in those timespans. Will KittehCoin be alive in a year? I believe it can be, and it has a good chance. And that chance totally depends on what the people supporting the coin do or not do. Those people are the KittehCoin team, but just as much you, me and many others here Smiley

Why will KittehCoin live or die? It will live if it has support from many people, marketing, adoption by stores, adoption as a currency for some purpose, etc etc.

The current rate doesn't matter that much, because altcoins are still an extremely young phenomenon and it's always a matter of taking risks. Investing in MEOW at 60 satoshis is a risk, using the scarce mining resources you control to mine it is a risk, investing in MEOW at 12 satoshis is a risk and even investing at 3 satoshis is a risk.

And as far as the rate is of importance, one major point in favor of KittehCoin is the relative scarcity. The pool of MEOW is currently almost 7 billion and limited to a total of 25. The amount of trading still isn't very high. If you want to know what a high amount of trading looks like, take a look at the Cryptsy order book for MOON or to a lesser extent LEAF. To give an extreme example: with 50 BTC you can buy all the MEOW sell orders on Cryptsy up to 30 satoshi's. Spend that same amount of BTC on MOON (which is at 3 now) and you're still left with half of the sell orders at 6. What I'm trying to point out is that the rate for MEOW can still quite easily go both ways, up or down.

If the rate of MEOW would drop to 3 satoshis, would that mean the coin is dead? No, because lots of efforts are still alive and kicking, allowing the coin to grow. The current downward spiral has to be turned into an upward spiral, and sitting and waiting for Max Keiser to say something favourable isn't gonna do it.

If the rate drops to 3 and nobody continues efforts on the coin like maintenance, development and marketing (and of course mining), would that mean the coin dies? Probably. There are enough examples of that already in the short history of altcoins.

To speak with a shamelessly adapted quote: ask not what your coin can do for you, ask what you can do for your coin Smiley
