Will this coin cover the poor of Argentina ?

Yes it will. Just help us by finding an organization in Argentina who would be willing to receive our donations and we will donate some coins to them.
CharityCoin is to help charities, everyone and everywhere but it needs to be a combined effort from many people.
I've been to Buenos Aires 21 years ago and the people are great!

Wow!

Yesterday I posted about our sweepstake in the Altcoin section of this forum. I also did on the altcoin/mining sections of the local forums and I was surprised to see that everyone of them were deleted by the bitcoin forum moderator. It seems to me that CharityCoin is not welcomed by the Altcoin community.
Is there anything offensive in our posts administrator?
Surprisingly, when another member posted an image of testicles in this topic and I contacted the moderators, we were ignored about it and the offensive image is still in this thread. Roll Eyes

Well the hashrate is doing a lot better now. Hopefully it keeps up. Mining is the only way to win the prizes and people are more likely to win the more hash power they put into the network.

What are you thoughts on another coin using the same ticker?

Having two CHAs is very confusing. We already have someone messaging us by mistake due to it. We had a similar problem when our ticker was CCC and ChocoCoin had it before us. In that case we decided to change it because that was the courteous and right thing to do. In this case, we have been using CHA for a while before ChanceCoin so we will not be making any changes to it.  The ball is on their side of the field.
Cheers

I am sorry to hear that you decided to stop mining the coin, but I respect your decision. This coin got to a very slow pace and it got at some point discouraging. Matt still working on the background and I am also posting on threads here and there. Unfortunately there is no way these volunteers can offer a full time effort. At the beginning we had hopes a large community would come together and enough minds would make this coin work but that is not how it panned out. I still have hopes it will develop further once the influx of new coins diminish. It seems everyone in this board is developing their own currency.
I hope this all change and we see you back!
Thanks again for the support.

I think your website looks very pretty but the actual numbers for Charitycoin are totally wrong. I can see the Marketcap is $38m!! That would be good for those charities, but sadly it's not the case. I believe that despite all the efforts from CancerCureCoin (I want to thank you for that) this coin has no future which makes me sad as it was created with very good intentions. The lack of help from the tiny or none existing community has been one of the reasons, me included. I told CCC I would help him with the Spanish Translation of the thread but after seeing where this was going and the lack of interest (more than a week without even one post) I decided that wasting my money was enough and that I would not waste my time as well. Now there is no more buyers in Swisscex, I had bought a lot myself to try to keep it going but sadly we are going nowhere and we have to recognise that. I believe the failure was mainly because of the coin didn't offer anything interesting and there was no development at all going on, no maintenance of the web and no involvement from most of the people in the "team". We will all learn from this, if you want something to happen a lot of effort and full time dedication needs to be put on it and it seems that was not the case. I wish you all the best luck. Maybe our paths will cross in the future, you never know. Bye now!!  Sad

What's up with the network as of today?  Solo mining and share diff reports 2.5M, yet getmininginfo reports ~0.09 diff.  Also, I am unable to sync the wallet since block 72760 with 7 active connections?   Currently at 17 hours behind syncing block chain.

For some reason the MPOS software on my pool got confused. Someone has tried to do time-warping with the network which is probably the reason. Now no blocks seem to be going through. I've restarted the server, so maybe things will work now, but there are no miners on the pool to test it yet.

I can't see any obvious evidence of a blockchain fork, because I see no "orphan" (which should be called "side-chain blocks") blocks reported by MPOS, but I'm not sure how much I can trust the information provided by MPOS.

I can't see any obvious information in any logs that can help.

If anyone else has any details please get in touch.

Matthew.

Edit: If anyone can or can't solo mine, please let me know.

Edit 2: No blocks are coming through. When I get chance I'll be able to take a closer look.

Blocks are now coming through!

The reason the block took so long is because the time warping caused the difficulty to go very high. It demonstrates the KGW is flawed in more ways than previously expected. I would personally recommend using a SMA for difficulty adjustments in any coin. The reason I used KGW, is because it was popular, and despite it's convolutedness, I expected it to be well tested and safe. But that was not the case. I can only learn to always check the code myself!

I still see no evidence of a fork. The only thing that seems to have happened is someone was using Charitycoin as a test-bed for time warping. How very nice of them (sarcasm).

If the network hashrate remains high, it makes it difficult for anyone to cause significant time warping. Until a time comes when the algorithm is changed, this is the best defence. So keep mining!

Regards,

Matthew.
