Ethereum is better than Bitcoin?

Brian Kelly, the founder, and CEO of an investment firm focused on digital currencies BKCM LLC, believes that Ethereum will be a better investment than Bitcoin.
Brian Kelly, from his point of view, points out the following reasons:

👉1. Ethereum Futures Contracts
First, Kelly believes that Ethereal futures contracts or ETH Futures will soon be launched, as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially decided that the Ether is not a security. This action has removed the biggest obstacle for Ethereum – The 2nd ranked coin in market capitalization to institutional investment.
However, what Kelly does not mention is that launching the Future Ethereum could more likely to pull down the price of this second-largest cryptocurrency rather than help it.
Since the launch of the Bitcoin futures contract, Bitcoin’s price has plummeted and many blamed the use of investment tools to manipulate the market for this decline.

Secondly, Kelly pointed out that the Augur platform was one of the main reasons for Ethereum's rapid growth when compared to Bitcoin.
As described by the analyst, " It’s a decentralized prediction market. What’s interesting about this [is that] this will probably be one of the biggest decentralized apps on top of Ethereum. If [augur] doesn’t slow the system down, that can generally be a positive for Ethereum."

👉3. Proof-of-Stake Protocol
Finally, Ethereum's upgrade from hardware mining to software mining will drive the continued growth of the cryptocurrency.
Ethereum creator - Vitalik Buterin, also recently explained that Ethereum's scalability improvements to the layer solutions will multiply one to another - improving the number of users that the system can handle, which increase the processing capacity of up to 1 million transactions per second.
However, this refers to the fact that Bitcoin and Ethereum are not fully competitive. Upgrading the Ethereum platform is likely to serve more of a rivalry between competitors like EOS, while Bitcoin will remain its top position in transferring and storing value.

With all the features of Ethereum mentioned in your write up above about the Ethereum blochchain, if all of them are implemented Ehereum will be one of the best altcoin projects occupying the the cryptocurrency space. Scalabilty and speed had been some of the prevalent problems of the blockchain technology however if the features above can solve these issues it will be a welcome development of the crypto community

If you are  worried about smart contracts , then RSK have products that can help you enable smart contracts for bitcoin. The platform of bitcoin is most robust.
Proof of stake of Ethereum is one of the biggest scam, I read somewhere that it will require minimum 1250 Ethereum to stake.  Mining equipment can come in fraction of cost if compared to the cost 1250 Ether.

According to me, Bitcoin is the first crypto currency, which has got a good time to become famous. This is just one coin . Etherium is better because it is the only platform for all coins  today. Which makes it better.

Bitcoin is always better investment in Crypto market so everyone more concrete in Bitcoin. But recently most of the altcoins are ERC 20 based so it is growing fastly in market. I personally supporting to both the coins because these two highly trusted Cryptocurrency so both equal opportunity in Crypto market.

I must admit that I'm not completely familiar with Augur, so I can't say if that one makes sense or not. I heard that time, and I know it's popular, but I never tried to understand what it does. As for the other reasons they are valid and could definitely make ethereum a good investment.

Yes bitcoin price start declining after futures contracts, but let's not forget that it first reached all time highs, and it only entered this "bear market", after the first futures contract ended. So on the short term, it's very likely that ether price will jump as futures get launched, and if tere is actually manipulation, we might see the same thing that s happening to BTC, happen on ether.

As for becoming POS, I think it will work well for ether, as all upgrades to the platform do.

Now, does this makes ether a better investment than BTC? It's impossible to tell, because BTC is not really "stalled". Lightning network is getting bigger, and with it, a lot of other new features that could be used for BTC. Let's not forget that BTC can even have smart contracts now, so it all depends on which coin gets the "better upgrades".

Let's also not forget that although BTC already has futures, it's next step will be getting ETFs.

So basically I just think that these two coins are great investments right now, so it's probably better to just invest in both of them.

For me point 1 and 2 are not important in this comparison. But 3 is overwhelming. I understand that PoW is key BTC feature. But with such energy consumption, it is a dead-end road. If all power engineering will work for BTC mining only it's not good. It's wrong. That's why point 3 is too important for me

With all these features, I still do not believe Ethereum is better than bitcoin. Of course, I prefer Bitcoin to Ethereum, but I still think Ethereum has a long way to go when it comes to competiting with bitcoin. But, it's no doubt that Ethereum is a very good coin.

the whole value of Bitcoin for a crypto-exchange society is that any investment in Bitcoin in the future will bring a profit several times more. If this advantage of Bitcoin in comparison with other coins does not exist, then this coin will lose interest in the society. But if we talk about the functionality and importance of a coin for the crypto-currency world, then the etherium has much more prospects.

I do think that Ethereum is better in technology when compared to Bitcoin but I really don't know which one would be a better investment.
If the prices were to go up on the basis of technology then Ethereum would have surpassed Bitcoin long ago but this isn't the case.
Despite Ethereum being better technology wise Bitcoin is still up in price and I believe it will continue staying on top for quite a while.
I would place my bets on both the coins and wouldn't want to miss any chances on both of them.
