Bounty become scam if the main project for which you are doing the bounty has been abandoned due to some one or two reasons. With this, i dont blame the manager if he is not part of the team. But if the manager is from the team, then he can be blamed. Although there are projects with scam intentions, most projects are abandoned for financial or legal reasons.

Everyone do that but, today many SCAM Bounty are very similar with legit project. Maybe people which make SCAM project imagine that they are really make the real project so they make all good like make good whitepaper and many more.

I believe you can avoid some scam bounty and the best way to avoid some scam bounty is to join bounties been manager by some good managers, there are many good bounty managers in the forum so join their bounty and you will avoid scam.

Mostly I look at the team members and the roadmaps. More times too, I look at the bounty manager, his rank and the reputation of the manager. I also consider the number of participants who are patronizing the campaign. Are there other criteria to consider?

To choose a good bounty company, you should first choose a good project, which is now holding an ICO. To do this, you need to read the website of the project, look at the managers of this project and read the white paper.

I agree with your opinion because it is difficult to recognize phishing scams unless you invest in that project. Even that ICO campaign has the potential to sell a lot of Token, but it can not confirm whether the campaign is fraudulent. So that you should investigate about ICO projects before joining.

Yes, very true and its very sad also. That’s why I only choose those projects that have advertisement in Facebook and is sponsored, its somehow not scam right? Since they really paid just to advertise their coin.But I think also not all promoted advertisements are legit but at least not all are scam.

To choose a bounty compaign, I advise you to look at the status of the manager on this forum. The higher the status, the more reliable. This does not give a 100% guarantee, but most of the scams come from managers with the status of Newbie.

See the ICO rating on sites such as ICOBench and others. Do not join companies with a rating below 60% (3.5 on ICOBench).

Do not join the company from any managers from Amazix.

Yup, I agree with you, the rating of the managers that handle any bounty campaign is a good thing to take into consideration before joining but it does not give guarantees which is why further research about the developers and how common or rare the concept of the project is is also very vital in choosing the right county campaigns(at least that's what I think and do).

Its not hard but if your not looking into teams and not making any research or if your not reading whitepaper you will never notice that it was just copy paste. they are good in making it looks like legit so please read and research.

It is really hard to detect scammed bounty campaign.  After completing all the requirements to be able to get accepted in a bounty campaign, spending much time to participate in forums and not to mention carrying their banners, completing all the tasks and reports then all of a sudden you will just find out that you have been scammed already.  luckily I am not the only one but to think all participants did the same efforts as well as you did.  But it is really happening, lesson learned and could be just charge it to experience and move on.  If we could only find out at early stage if we were in to scam or a legit bounty campaign.  Who would really know anyway?

You only need some tools to verify if the bounty is a scam or not. One of the reliable tools I use to check if the bounty is a scam is LinkedIN. Try to search every member of the team in LinkedIN, you will see there if the profile of a member especially the CEO of the project. It is easy to detect if the profile is fake or not, you can also try to use google when searching their names. If you think that the profile is fake, possible that the ICO is a scam. Try to avoid it.

I think it is very difficult to find that bounty campaign is scam. To avoid scam project you should follow trusted manager on this forum (but it not work 100 times). You can chose bounty campaign your won experience, you can follow your friends also,you can look the team member of the bounty campaign that can help you lot.

No one can really tell if bounty will end up being a scam. Even the best managers on this forum are getting scammed so as their participants. I believe that its not the bounty managers fault when the bounty ended up being a scam. They are the same boat as the participants and they are not getting paid as well. No matter how good the whitepapers are, if they want to scam people, they can do that. What I am doing is to join a bounty that I believed in and live up with the results. If its a scam, I just move on and proceed with the next bounty. It is what it is.

You just have to do your due diligence and research on the project before you join, nothing less than 4.0 bench mark score in rating.

It really is. It sucks that we can't separate those scam projects to those who are legit and will really pay. Even if we read their whitepaper, research about their backgrounds, know everything about them, it's still hard to determine whether they are scam or will succeed in the future. It's sad that this kind of scheme are getting out of hands and people who did this are getting away with this. A lot of time and effort of bounty hunters are getting wasted, not to mention the money that investors invest. Let's just hope that this lessens when a regulation took place.

Yes, I think it's very difficult to determine the scams. They do everything looking  normal. Nothing can show that it's scam. When the campaign  end, they disappear quickly. That's you wont see them again.

Actually, only a dumb person will rely on all those to be a part of a bounty. There is nothing hard here, in as much as any bounty person see themselves as an investor, every step an investor will take to be sure he or she is investing in a quality project can be taken as well for those doing bounty campaign. I feel it is laziness that makes a lot of people to just join whatever they feel like since they feel there is no need doing diligence and in that case, what else should be expected. It is always better to take the time to scrutinize and be a part of quality projects and get the best of it, than just join everything that is seen.

Yes indeed it's really hard. Some projects are really good at convincing investors to invest in their project. They have this marketing stuff to make the project legit. And claiming they already hit the soft cap to lure more investors. Then after sometime they vanished and their website was taken down. Look for a reliable and trusted bounty manager when participating in bounty program. The likes of yahoo, huahui, pinkman and Tyler's bounty campaigns.
