I agree the coin loss isn't even an issue. I think some of us were more facepalming because here is yet another launch where someone says "i never saw a ddos coming" despite the fact every coin with interest gets them.

Also the sleeping, that got some people. I understand fatigue, I do. I get less than 20 hours of sleep a week. Still.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the support. I'll try to unfacepalm as many people as I can -- whether that's through personal reimbursement out-of-pocket, or through faster updates and generally working harder.

I'm trying my best here... I've been given plenty lemons and sure as hell am trying to find some sugar.

Allowing for a democratic process. The poll closes at 5PM EST today; if a majority is reached by either side that will be the decision.
On another note, I've mined about 20 SYN. Anyone need to be reimbursed? I'm giving all of mine away as it comes in until everyone is paid in full. (Must have proof, obviously).

A relaunch is not guaranteed at this point, but I've taken your suggestion into account if it does. Don't forget to vote if you haven't already.

Thanks for your support.

The pool operators there withdrew their support last night due to my fuck-up. I've contacted them, but they haven't replied yet. In the mean-time you may mine on the official pool (or solo mine, if you distrust me). The coin works fine, it's just the source was delayed due to DDOS and a segfault that had to be patched this morning. (I'm EST).

There's a poll up that will end at 5PM EST today that will decide the fate of the coin, but I thank your support anyway.

Good to see you're being a lot more active today.

I hope you get some of the pools back as this coin needs community support for it to survive. I liked your initial plans enough to give it another go. Good luck.

I believe this could be a long term coin - relaunch isn't necessary and wouldn't practically benefit anyone economically. It could make things clearer and fairer but I think it's enough it works now.

So, is  http://syncoin.hashrapid.com/ only working not-offical pool now? I see 4 miners there at the moment.

There is also cheaper http://syn.hashstrike.com/  with 0% fee but it's completely empty.  We need more miners to pools, do we?

I have been mining all the time in official pool @ 0.8 Mhash/s and I have about 20 SYN now.

About the launch on this morning, I don't think it is a total failure.
It always happened in altcoin community.

I mined three hours on the only one working 'official pool' and got nothing.  Won't give any comment on it.

However, when I do some math on the design of syncoin, I find I should never mine it.

At difficulty<=1, the reward is approx 10.   I think I can mine ~100 per day with 1Mh/s.
At difficulty~1000, the reward is less than 10k. While at that difficulty, with small rig,  how many coins will you expect to mine? 10?100?
Another question is who is mad to waste the hashpower on this to hit difficulty?

Truth is
The coin amount is 250billion!
You will get few coins per day with 1mh/s.

I'm not mad, I pass it.

http://syncoin.hashrapid.com is GrumpyCoin after they stopped their support due to last night.
Same thing with http://syn.hashstrike.com.

Also, the vote for no-relaunch is losing, so if you don't want the relaunch vote now.

Congratulations! You have 20 coins out of 250,000,000,000.
You are really a big stakeholder. Keeping mining.

that's EXACTLY why there is no need for a relaunch nobody has more than probably couple of hundred coins....there are 250BILLION   the blocks are tiny, probably in 1 month the number of coins in 1 block will be more than has been mined so far.

DEVS just get on with promoting this coin and doing something with it. Relaunch not needed.  Just put your effort into doing other things for the coin.
